We had an insane craving for lobster bisque so searched for it, this place came up and did NOT disappoint. Firstly our server Dillon was a rock star and boosted the whole experience. Bisque was awesome, oysters were super fresh and delicious, crab cake was transcendent with an amazing tangy creamy sauce. I got the blue crab encrusted salmon with grits and collard greens, perfect southern dish with complex flavors and incredibly satisfying, and Zach got the Mediterranean scallops which stole the show for both of us. Awesome atmosphere and can't stress the quality of service enough, thanks brother!!

Smack Shack is a North Loop staple. It can get busy, so allow time for parking in the busy city. Portions here are large. I shared everything with a friend. 10/10 for food and service. The cool thing about this spot is that it turns into a club at night. Definitely check it out if you're in the mood for seafood and good vibes.

We went on a Saturday evening for dinner. The atmosphere was lively with a couple of large birthday celebrations happening around us.I ordered the warm lobster roll, and it was fantastic--buttery and packed with flavor. The Cajun fries on the side were a generous portion, and the seasoning hit just right. Absolutely a 5/5 dish! I also had the NA Italian Spritz, which was a standout for me. It was light, crisp, and refreshing--exactly what I needed! My husband tried the paella, which was decent but not exceptional--he rated it a 3/5. The portion size was good, but the flavors didn't quite stand out as we hoped. If you're planning to visit on a weekend, I'd recommend making a reservation to avoid a wait. I felt the place a bit crowded and loud but overall , a nice experience with a mix of highs and lows!

Located in the North Loop area off Washington parking can be scarce however plenty of side street options. Patio is lovely weather permitting and inside decor is large spaceFood/service 3/5 Service has always been good, food is overpriced and underwhelming in my opinion but the drinks are great. Overall 3/5 I don't necessarily care for it however the drinks are good.

Zoo wee mama. Quite the selection at Smack Shack. From surf to turf and plenty of sides to compliment farm and sea. My favorites were the Cajun fries, corn bread, Brussels sprouts, and the burger. While the lobster roll was tasty, it was quite rich and soggy. The team checked in on our table frequently but there were delays in getting drinks, which was understandable on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant is split into dining and a bar area, with an upstairs as well. Highly recommend making a reservation for weekends. Semi-casual spot. Saw birthday celebrations and dates taking place here.

This place is always easy to go to and get a table at. It is close to our office and hotels so we come here for a quick bite or a cocktail. I ordered the fish and chips and the portions are very generous. Along with the snow crab because hey, why not! The menu has a ton of items to choose from. so everyone will be happy! the restaurant itself is very spacious and has a nautical feel to it so bringing groups is ok. They also have a great outdoor patio and it is heated in the off season but in the summer is a great place to hang out! The service is also good, although one time we did get a cocktail server in the bar that was having a really bad day and wanted to share all his problems with us. It started from a compliment on his nail polish and the floodgates opened. The prices aren't on the inexpensive end so be prepared to spend at least 50-60 dollars a person. Overall, you will enjoy yourself, this place is solid.

Service was awesome, great atmosphere and the food was amazing! It's a busy area, so give yourself time to find parking (or Uber or ride your bike - lots of bike racks nearby). The area seems like a great place to hang out. Saw a music bar that we'll probably come back to check out another time and not far from where the Twins play.Back to the food. Ever since I first tried lobster rolls on a vacation in Boston, I crave them. For me, vacations are part location and part food experience and for me, Boston is lobster rolls. Later, I figured out that there are two styles - Connecticut style (simple, hot, covered in butter) and Maine style (cold with mayo). Luckily for me, they were serving it Connecticut style where we ate them in Boston, and I've been in love ever since. I mean, I'll happily eat snails if you slather them in melted butter and serve with fresh bread (that would be Paris - OMG, so dang good), so butter and bread are powerful - add lobster? Yes, please! So after moving to the TC, I tried lobster rolls at a place in Edina and was terribly disappointed. My son asked me, "What do you expect? There's no ocean nearby!" Ah, but I've had fantastic lobster rolls in AZ, and they also have no ocean. So my search continued, this time using Yelp and my foodie group for guidance.Well, I've found my spot. Smack Shack served us up warm, melt-in-your-mouth lobster rolls with cajun fries. It's not a cheap sandwich, but it's so worth it. My husband had an IPA and I had the non-alcoholic Mariposa (but asked for less sweet because too many places think NA drinks mean sugar bombs). That Mariposa was beautiful and delicious. Lastly, we also split an order of their honey-glazed, pistachio nut, parmesan, bacon roasted brussel sprouts. If you don't try these, you are missing out on something special. So. Dang. Good.

I realize that Minnesota is not an area with access to the freshest seafood. I got a chilled lobster roll with fries and it was just ok. Not particularly flavorful and the lobster was not very substantial. It was also 33 dollars! Yikes. I got a very potent Paloma that was pretty nice. The service was good but as far as the meal, I think this is a "when in Rome.." kind of situation. Maybe stick to walleye and cheese curds(which I do love.) I'd probably skip this place unless you're desperate for seafood. Just ok. 7/10

The best place to get a lobster roll!! Every time I go I always get the Connecticut style lobster roll (toss warm lobster with butter, lemon, chives and warm bread). Seriously, this is my favorite. I usually share this and they can choose to split it for you. This makes it a lot easier and I feel like they always give you so much fries too! I went on a Friday night so parking was harder to find because they only offer street parking but fortunately, there was no wait when my friend and I got there. The vibes on a Friday night are so fun. Everyone is out and about. I love the beauty of everything. Very cutesy. I chose the lobster roll, lobster mac and cheese, and a side of hot honey brussels sprouts with parmesan, pistachio, and bacon vinaigrette. Everything was 10/10. I would say it was a bit busier and the waiter took a little longer to come over and take our order but everything else was great. The food, the atmosphere, the setting was immaculate. I usually don't do here much because I would say this place got more pricey, but would still recommend for anyone to try out!

* We were at this restaurant for happy hour on a Monday night *The happy hour menu was a steal of a deal for my fiancé and I - drinks and food were well worth our 3 hours spent here prior to a concert at Target Field. The seafood dishes are flavorful in spice and heat! The poutine was our favorite part- the portion size had us both full without needing separate entrees (and we can EAT). The brownie was not the best - the spice was unexpected. We sat on the patio the entire time! Service was slower than we hoped for during happy hour. The tables were not full in the section. At 5pm, the service picked-up and the place got PACKED.*Street parking and surrounding lots for a fee (North Loop, to be expected)*Under $100 can be spent on 5 drinks per person, 2 orders of appetizers, and 1 dessert during happy hour*For those concerned about safety in downtown, this place felt secure and comfortable to be at
