Schatzi's

On the way home from a few days on West Battle Lake, we stopped for a late breakfast. A super cute little place, brightly painted in yellows and whites, with fresh flowers in the bathroom. What an excellent find in the middle of "lake country", in a town of just barely 600 residents. Wife and husband owners, they're slinging some good old classics (a textbook Denver Omelet and Hash browns), and the occasional twist. Like the Rosti apparently from Switzerland (Hash browns stuffed with Gruyere, onion, and bacon, topped with eggs). Even more so the Unicorn Pancakes that delighted our kiddo to no end. And when we leaned into the kitchen on our way out to say so, the chef /owner reached under the counter and gave her a little pack of gummy bears. Happy kiddo, Happy parents. We will definitely make a point to hit Schatzi's when we're back out that way

Came into town from Colorado for a family event and noticed these on Yelp and had to go give them a try. Overall consensus within the group was very good. They were light and fluffy and excellent, I had 2......friendly place!! Might have to go back and get a patty melt!!

Amazing food (I had the Rosti) and great service!! Love this place! Worth the drive to Evansville!

Such a sweet small town place with a friendly waitress and view of the grain elevator. I had the rosti with hash browns and eggs and cheese and toast and my boyfriend had the everything omelette including jalapeños (but it was all negotiable, he asked for no tomatoes) and all the veggies were freshly cut. The coffee kept flowing, the prices were reasonable (($12.50 for an omelette, hash browns and two pieces of sour dough) and the bathrooms were cute and clean. It's an easy two miles off of 94, stop in!

THANK YOU to the one Yelper who had reviewed this little gem. Driving back to The Cities from Fargo and looked for a place to sit for a minute with good food that was close to the highway. It was amazing food. Great small town ambiance. Friendly service and everything when you're looking for speedy service and food that you would drive more than two miles off the highway to get to. We had the Reuben with chicken wild rice soup (amazing!!) and a double bacon cheeseburger. Yum!

This small diner has excellent food. I ordered a simple Reuben Sandwich plate and was surprised how good it was! I have had Reuben sandwiches before, but I rarely find one that was THIS GOOD! Now I want to try the other dishes hoping to again be pleasantly surprised!

So glad this place is open again. I love and seek out small town cafes and this one has great food and awesome staff!

If they could put their Ruben sandwich on a stick, it would be a best seller at the MN State Fair! They do their corn beef from scratch. It's chopped and mixed with sauerkraut. Great cheese and sauce. Being a conservationist, bring your own reusable large sandwich container for the second half. The chicken dumpling soup side was enough for a meal, and you wish your mom made it that good.

Tried Schatzi's for breakfast last week. The Denver omelette was great. Looking forward to trying some of the other breakfast options. The restaurant is very close to a parking area for the Central Lakes Line bike trail. I would recommend giving Schatzi's a try.
