Rusty Nail Burger and Beer Bar

Great local place in Battle Lake. Good selection of beers on tap and a straightforward menu. Came in for a beer and some apps. Great service. Next time I will try a burger they all look good

Great find in small town Minnesota country. Food was absolutely delicious. We came here twice during our trip. We ordered burgers, club sandwich and sunfish sandwich all of which were great. Fries deserve a special mention because they were amazing. This bar also has great selection of beers on tap, we had GOLDEN ROAD MANGO CART and it was delicious. Menu they had on the web site is outdated. So I've added new one in my photos. If you are in the area give this place a try.

Three years since our last visit and all's well at the Rusty Nail. Grabbed a cold Fergus Brewing beverage while waiting on the carryout order. Both small salads were rather large - the house and the Caesar were very good - crisp green lettuce and good assortment of toppings. The chicken Bahn mi sandwich was good and spicy, but would have reduced the amount of sauce as a little sloppy. The pepper jack burger was done perfectly (a tad of pink after the 10-minute drive) but a tad salty for me. The house made chips are excellent - crisp and not greasy. Service was prompt and friendly. $7 for a draft beer is a tad steep.

This was quite the surprise. The Rusty Nail is like taking a trendy bar from Uptown or Grand Ave and plop it right into the heart of Battle Lake, MN. I know the other Yelpers have all echoed the same sentiment. Trendy, save for the northern MN decor of antler chandeliers, and big game heads (buffalo, moose, etc) on the walls. The build out is nice, with balcony seating, spacious and bright main room. They did forget to finish a wall in the men's bathroom lol. There is the obligatory pull tabs counter, and a deep craft and microbrew lineup. Nordeasts would be proud. They offer live music every night of the week.We ordered broasted chicken with fries and sunnies with fries. Yep. Sunfish fillets! It was all very yummy. The fries were cut pomme frie style with seasoned salt, and both the chicken and fish were amazing. The chicken was juicy with a well seasoned breading. The sunnies were battered in a traditional fish and chips batter. You can see in the pics that it's actual flaky sunfish meat. Reminds me of a day out at the lake. We walked up and down the main drag on this fall day, and settled on this place...for being city slickers this place felt right at home. Our server was quick, attentive, and cheery. No complaints, unless you're an animal activist lol. If you're ever here in Battle Lake check it out and get the Sunnies. I do not believe I have ever seen sunfish on a menu before today.

Amazing specialty cocktails and numerous beers on tap. I had the grapefruit gimlet, it was perfect, not too sweet not too strong. Ordered the pickles but received our meal before pickles arrived, we didn't care just told the server to cancel the order. My husband had the Cuban which was delish, really soft roll and very good bbq. I had the steak blue cheese wrap, the steak was med rare which I definitely appreciated and they were not stingy with the blue cheese which I also loved. When we were just finishing the waitress brought us our deep fried pickles with no charge! We were SO grateful! What a kind gesture and showing amazing service! We had a delicious midnight snack, they weren't too thin or salty like they sometime are. We will definitely go back! Outstanding service!

This was super good and very unexpected in small town Minnesota. Hard to pick a sandwich or burger because all the choices sound good. I picked the hangover burger and it was awesome. Fresh handcut fries were awesome!! We had the cheese balls for an app and it sounds weird but those things were heaven on a plate. Didn't get anything from the bar but their mixed drinks sounded fun and tasty!

What a gem! First, let me say Cocktails. They're amazing. The grapefruit gimlet. The blackberry goose. I wanted to try the salted caramel martini... next time. Well crafted for sure. And the food is great. My friend ordered the burgers and hand cut fries and said they were great. We tried the fried fish appetizer and it was very generous and tasty. I was here twice. Both salads delicious. Wedge salad with sirloin and bahn mi chicken. Huge salads.You can't go wrong here!

In town for a long weekend and asked some locals on where to eat for dinner and the Rusty Nail was mentioned multiple times. It was a fun little find with good food. It gives off the vibe of a sports bar but also a place to sit and have a casual meal. The fried pickles came out hot and crispy and they were wonderful! Even after sitting and munching on them after 5 minutes the ones that were still in the basket were still warm. The PB+J burger was amazing! It has a nice little kick with every bite you took. It had the perfect amount of spicy that wasn't too overwhelming. The BBQ wings were also very good! Cooked to perfection and had the perfect amount of sauce on them. The cheese balls were really good but had too much cheese in each bite you took. The cheese balls were also much larger than what we were thinking they were going to be. Roughly the size of a golf ball. The service was splendid. There was one waiter and bartender working while we ate but you wouldn't have guessed that by how fast our drinks and food came out. Our waiter was very attentive and checked in on us, while waiting on every other table in the building. If you are passing through town this is definitely a place to try out!

Fun place in battle. Good bar and good burgers. Always stop here every summer. Specials are always a good find on Instagram too!!!

The bloodies weren't spicy and didn't come with a chaser, the chips came out like shake at the bottom of a bag, and the bahn mi was NOT a bahn mi. The server obviously didn't want to check their specials or soups when asked. The patio was infested with flies and wasps. On the up side, the drinks were boozy. I would not go here if you support BLM; they have a back the blue flag out back.
