I had a great time here. The building isn't very big, but they do an impressive job of making use of all available space. One of the first things I noticed was how comfortable it feels. Not sterile like some museums, but more like you're in someone's home, looking at their personal collection. For their limited space, they do a nice job hitting on all the events that helped mold Dodge County from the founding of Faribault to current date. There are also several displays of Native American artifacts from 10,000 BC to the 19th Century. The thing I found most impressive was the 'Main Street' exhibit. It's a series of re-created store fronts that you might find on a main street in southern MN from 1880-1920, and it runs along one entire wall. The staff was friendly and very informative. I was also given a pamphlet that gives a little information about each exhibit you encounter as you walk through the museum. Admission is only $3 and well worth it if this sort of thing interests you.
