Not much too say about this place... It's really intimate but also small, low-ceilinged and can get crowded. I just came here for a trance show (4 Strings), but I've been here for a lot of other big headliners. The VIP area are couches that surround the rectangular dance floor. The dance area is pretty small at approximately 20x 30 feet.... The good thing is you can get super close to the DJ booth that pretty much sits right next to the dance floor up front. The sound system is okay, not bad, not great. The bar area is lined up along the right side and use-able enough for the size of the venue. Cool bartender staff take care of you. No real problems and they're happy to provide water, etc...A renovation to the ceiling would be awesome!, but the venue is usable...

One of the few places you can catch a noteworthy house/electronic act.Cons - low ceiling. That's it. If the ceiling were just a foot higher, I'd give this place four stars.Pros - good people work here, fair drink prices for who you're seeing in MPLS, parking easy within 3-4 blocks.

I find myself forced here time and again due to the lackluster nightlife scene in Minneapolis. It has the potential to be a great venue if it were managed well, as great DJs cycle through here on a regular basis. However, every time I shell out the $20 - $25 to go there, I regret it as soon as the night as over, thinking to myself: "wow, that was mediocre at best."The main culprit: the nasty sound system. If you bought a cheap Bluetooth speaker in the middle of the flea market in Bangladesh, it would sound better than the ones they have at this place. I mean its just pathetic. I don't know why top notch guys like Markus Schulz and company keep coming here. The place doesn't even get half full because people don't want to pay to come listen to a shitty sound system. If I was them I would stop coming until they upgrade the sound system. It's pretty sad and annoying really. Unfortunately, I'll probably be back due to the lack of options.

Holy cow! I didn't know they changed their name to REV Ultra Lounge. I 'checked in' the wrong place. Oh well, this review is based on the dance club scene. The place was kind of dead but I didn't care because the music is what I was enjoying. Since I had my dancing shoes on, I didn't care where we go...It is located in the basement. The space is like a garage where you could fit six cars with low ceilings. Music is great. Parking is either valet or at the ramp. Enjoy!

I really wish Rev would improve their sound system. A lot of very talented artists come through this basement venue and their sound is drowned out by eardrum-shattering, bass-like noises. I'm not sure if the equipment needs mending or if the acoustics need some TLC, but the noise in the basement of Rev is not appealing and someone needs to take the initiative to fix this. Also, the venue is packed. Like ass-to-crotch, elbows-in-drinks, sweaty-everything packed. I like a little space to dance and not have my drinks spilled, but that's just preference. I've seen 5+ shows in the past several months at the Rev and I will have to pass on future shows because every time I am disappointed.

Their booking manager is amazing, getting the best DJs. I really want to like this venue. Staff is friendly and nice, it's just a terribly designed venue. Low ceiling, over packed, VIP isn't any better than just getting general tickets. Drink prices were reasonable, $8 for a vodka redbull. The space downstairs is just poorly designed, its just a rectangular squished space where there is only one exit and entrance. I don't understand why the management doesn't see how this floor plan is losing you money. When you have patrons dancing towards the front and they see how far away the bar is, they're just going to suck it up and pass on getting another drink. Lots and lots of money is lost with only have one bar area towards the back rather than on the side of dance floor. I saw too many people near me with no drinks in their hands.Mediocre sound system.

They get some good DJs here, but they sell way too many tickets. If you're going to a sold out show expect not to be able to move, let alone dance without trampling on someone or someone trampling on you. Also, douchebags abound so they don't care that they're jumping on you. I've had this experience multiple times here, never at the Skyway or Muse.Edit: Please note, this venue is in Minneapolis. This means that you are most likely neither a Kardashian nor a member of the Jersey Shore cast. Adjust accordingly.

I have seen some of the best artists in the EDM music scene right here in this tiny one room club in a basement no less. you are right there with the Dj feeling the music and it is so personal. It can get pretty hot and sticky when they have sold out shows but its always worth it to go VIP. Can not wait to see who they bring in next!

Ever since REV changed their layout, my friends and I have been coming here almost every weekend. Not only do they have great local DJs every night of the weekend, but they also bring some of the best nationwide and worldwide DJs a couple times a month. Pierce Fulton, Cosmic Gate, Paris Blohm, 3LAU, Tritonal, Audien, and Henry Fong (among others) have all played at REV in the past 6 months or so. Love the intimate vibe!

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. When it was Marquee it was amazing - Awesome LED light display, stellar EDM on par with European clubs- now, this palace seems like someone's terrible mistake. If you value good music and a decent atmosphere - don't waste your time here.
