Amazing owners, amazing friendly staff and such a special place in the Northwoods! If you love a great glass of wine, mixed drink or a classic "Wisconsin Old Fashion" then this is your place! There is a wineshop inside with hundreds of bottles of wine. They really know their wine too! Then a cozy Bourbon room with a bar and several varieties to choose from. The food is unique and so fresh. Gluten menu items too. During the summer they have a great outdoor patio with live music on the weekends and in the winter a comfy warm inviting indoor dining room with a bar!! During the winter they have Bloody Mary flights along with Hot Chocolate flights for a great price. Then to top that off, they have an amazing Sunday Brunch! A+++ spot!

On one of our visits to Hayward we stopped at this little gem located in a small town of less than 200!!!! I love wine so I had to stop so basically on one side is a wine retail store full of wine from around the world on the other side a small bar with everything along with done basic eats. We chose a Bloody Mary (hie could you resist when it says the best in town ) the Bloody Mary was good not the best I've had (hint to bartender please make sure tomato juice and vodka is mixed before you serve) but it did have a bunch of delicious little snacks included right in it and a cute little bottle of beer.... The flatbread was amazing and came out fast. I loved the outdoor seating (fyi I prefer that). The wine retail store had a large variety and the employee was so helpful in guiding me to a good wine to take to our cabin.

On a trip up north we stayed at an Airbnb owned by the owner of Red Schoolhouse Wines. It was just across the road so we stopped in. It was a rainy day, but the large umbrella tables provided plenty of coverage. We brought some cards with us and ordered the cheese & fruit board before figuring out lunch. I had the house made sangria and it was a little sweet but lovely for a summer's day. My husband had one of the local beers on tap and enjoyed it a lot. We didn't have any of the wines...but loved the atmosphere and the food was great! The table behind us had a young boy around 8 who exclaimed that the chicken Cesar salad was the best he'd ever had (and apparently he was quite the connoisseur)! He convinced me so I ordered the salad and my husband had a sandwich with turkey and cranberry. We had a great time and went back for that live music later that nice. I would highly recommend stopping in if you are in the Stone Lake area.

Just stopping by on a rainy day for a beer. Always up for meeting new people and trying new beers. It was a nice relaxing hour under the crab apple trees and chillin.

Stopped in for lunch and had an excellent sandwich and a beer. Super accommodating of kids even though it's geared to adults. We love school house for romantic evenings with a glass of wine and spur of the moment quick meals. It's also our quick stop on the way north for good wines at a reasonable price. So glad it's summer and we'll be able to swing in more often again!

Nice little wine and beer shop with some gifts upstairs. Never saw a creepy old man unless the pretty 40ish hockey mom who owns the place is a witch who can shapeshift. The wines are targeted to vacationers and newbies whereas a jaded palate might find the selection a bit limited. Imagine a smaller version of a trader joes or World Market wine selection. The little bar/tasting area offers maybe a dozen by the glass options. Again, they are meant to be crowd pleasers so you wont find chambertin, vosne romanee, or small production grower champagne. I tried all of the reds.....A bit on the big and jammy side?!?!...Maybe. Throw up?!?....Hardly.The vibe is very comfortable and cozy/dark (its an old building after all), The porch is next to a great country garden and shaded by a couple of crab apple trees. We grabbed some sandwiches and brought them back to have with the wine, no problem. Guy next to me had a "world's greatest bloody mary" and said it was pretty good. Good variety of New Glarus beers.

Great little wine shop! I really enjoyed hanging out for bit and trying some of the wines. Their affordable prices are fantastic too - I was able to bring home a couple bottles of quality wine :) They also have a good, relaxed atmosphere both on the patio, and inside at the bar. The only reason they didn't get five stars is their bloody mary. It didn't quite live up to the hype. It was good, but not as awesome as I had expected, and I really like bloody mary's. Over all, a good spot to wind down, or pick up a bottle for home. :)PS...I met the owners since they both served our party, and neither were old or creepy. Not really sure what's up with that other review :/
