Plum's Neighborhood Bar & Grill

Stopped in on a Friday night based on reviews. We were looking for a dive bar to grab a quick drink and maybe something fried.here's plenty of seating inside and there's a pretty big menu for being a small bar. We ended up ordering cheese curds and were excited to see that they looked like a smaller version of the state fair kind. They were out in minutes and tasted great. I would order them again without question. Plenty of drink options (full bar) and if you can get there during hour you'll get a great deal. Unfortunately happy hour ends at 6pm and we had just missed it. Staff was friendly and checked on ya throughout the visit. They also have pull tabs to keep you busy while having a drink. I know the outside of Plum's May make you skeptical but stop in. It's a great hidden gem and it's perfect if you're looking for a place to grab a drink with friends.

This is the most disgusting, disrespectful bar I've ever been to. Not only was I refused service because of my age (I'm in my 30s and was told I'm too old to be there), the young men were forceful and rude to make sure I'd leave (I never gave a fuss). My brother wasn't told to leave because he is in his 20s but still ended up with his wallet and phone stolen. I filed a police report but was told that even though these are "young frat boys, they are harmless" (frat boys are never harmless). I guess money buys you anything. Definitely a highly bigoted bar and probably serve underage since many girls looked way too young to be in a bar and around these predators which is clearly why I wasn't allowed to stay. I will be following up and investigating further. This environment is unsafe and questionable.

This is a typical college dive bar as others have noted. The atmosphere feels grimy with little character.I was here with a group who seemed to appreciate the cheap beers at happy hour. The rest of the group ordered a flight of the appetizers which would possibly have put me into cardiac arrest. I ordered a cobb salad. This was one of the five worst sapads I have ever had. There was less lettuce than there was cheese. The hard boiled egg was completely overcooked. Who puts black olives on a cobb salad? The ranch wasn't even decent. The whole thing was terrible and I only ate half of it because I was hungry. If you want to eat food and don't like eating state fair food for a meal, go anywhere else. I'm only giving two stars because the wait staff was friendly and fairly prompt.

Died and went to heaven when I ate the truffle aioli burger and fries. Trust me, this meal won't disappoint.

This place was soo cool. Good vibe good food! If I had more time I would come back to hang out on a Friday night!

Sat out on patio. Staff came out and sat in filthy cushioned patio chairs closest to door for their smoke break. Service was good but left after a beer after the tacky smoke-filled display.

My son recently moved to St. Paul from Chicago and we were looking for a place to grab a beer and some food. Plum's was exactly what we were looking for! Very relaxing atmosphere..sports on the TVs..good beer selection and great appetizers and sandwiches. We will be back!

Saw a decent review here, so decided to meet up with old friends and have a casual burger on the patio. Oh my God so so bad. The Plums management has not made a single update in 30 years. Really, really dirty from floor to ceiling, the windows and doors were literally gross. For a couple hundred bucks they could have fresh paint and flowers, music and a vibe....but they didn't even get rid of the trash. Instead, the fence and the whole patio is in disrepair, seriously neglected, broken crap lying around and the tables are uncomfortable. The menu could be fine enough, if the food was served hot and fresh. I ordered an avocado bacon burger (medium), which came out well-done and lukewarm, with cold sweet potato fries. Everyone at my table had cold food. The bathrooms were grossI am understanding of the hospitality industry's work shortage so I patiently allow for extra time under the circumstances. However, I do not think that a worker shortage was playing a factor in our service tonight. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant (much like I won't be in the future) so I don't understand why food was served cold. There was no point to call attention to it. Our server was actually friendly and that was about the only good thing about the visit. Sorry Plums, you are missing the boat all around! Stars only for decent service. Everything else was a no-go...

Went to dinner and the only thing that was semi decent was the burger. Grilled chicken wasn't great, over cooked and chewy. The Wallaye fries were HORRIBLE all breading. But the patio is nice.
