Pine Ridge

Food is always amazing. The service was excellent. The place is very charming. Great place to grab a quality meal up north.

It's been a few years, and my family went back to Pine Ridge tonight for their fish fry while in the area on vacation.This meal was as good as I remembered! Different from the last time we were here, we went right after they opened at 4 and only had to wait 30 minutes or so for a table inside. And once seated, our food came fast. For the fish fry, you have the option of AYCE fish and chicken *or* spaghetti and chicken. And for the fish, you pick fried or broiled. I got fried fish. These pieces were larger, longer than my plate. I wish the breading had a bit more spice to it, but it was light and crispy, like I like it. This also came with coleslaw, fries and fried bread, which tasted like donuts without the glaze. The server kept the drinks and fish coming. Happy to have this as a vacation family tradition.

The walleye fish fry is amazing. It's all you can eat and my favorite fish fry in the area. The fish is served piping hot and just couldn't be better. The staff we dealt with was very accommodating and professional. I've gone there with family, friends, and even once by myself and every experience was great. Beautiful lake view is offered as well.

Always enjoy my dinner here the only complaint is the wait it took to get a table for four ..... completely understand but when you see set empty tables kinda is a little frustrating... we had the butterfly shrimp in garlic butter very tasty and the prime rib cooked to perfection. Our server had the best attitude always polite and smiling and what i like food came out HOT! ....Always a stop when we are up in the area and will continue to do so.

If you want fish fry on a Friday night, pine ridge is one of the best in the area (and we have tried numerous over the years). You will wait, so be prepared. Stop and put your name in and then get some drinks and enjoy the outside while you wait. They have really good house cocktails that are always available and a good selection of beer. The fish comes fried or broiled with fries or baked potato. The fish fry also comes with fried chicken, fried fritters and coleslaw (with cranberry's in it, the best)! Also, a nice glass of blush wine! For the price, it's a great deal! We come every year that we are up at the cabin and have taken many guests here too! Thanks for the memories pine ridge!

We had a group of 10. From the outside it looks like a reasonably sized restaurant. We arrived at 5:30. Parking lot was pretty empty so we were confident we would be seated in a reasonable time as they did not take reservations, "first come, first serve" hostess told us on phone. There was a group waiting inside, a couple at another table and two groups of 4 outside. We were told 30 minutes if we wanted to break up or 45 if we wanted to stay a group, we were OK with splitting up.We waited and had cocktails, people started piling in. After an hour and a half we approached the waitress and asked about wait time (again). She said there were several folks in front of us(?) WHAT? We were hear early and folks were getting seated. We were completely bypassed for 90 minutes, she also said she could not tell us how long yet because of all the people in front of us. "How is that possible? We were here there were 4 groups". Her response, "Well many of the people ahead of you are renting the lodges and came and put their names in and left" My response was, "SO you do take RESERVATIONS!" Her response, "Well they are local"....she did not care nor even attempt to apologize. I personally think it was their goal to just get us to spend some $ at the bar.Enough said. I went into the dining room, there were 3 tables of 4 open and ready for seating. The others were full. It has 10 tables of 4 for a capacity of 40 PEOPLE TOPS that they can serve at a time.There was absolutely no excuse for this. This is UTV and snowmobile riding country. If you are vacationing and visit this beautiful area, bypass this place, plenty of other eating places with better atmosphere and food.If you are "local" and a group of 2 to 4 people, I'm sure the experience is entirely different. The hostess from Saturday, Sept 21, 2024 definitely needs to be retrained AND advised on to handle customers, probably the worst customer experience I have personally had.

Crazy busy in the summer months, I'd advise going as early as possible to get a table. My husband and I enjoy ordering off the menu for the delicious seafood and steaks. We can see advantage for families going on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for family-style fish and chicken and spaghetti, as it's quick service and good food, but it's just not for us. The Northwoods ambiance and clever signs in the bathrooms are fun, too!

This is the best fish fry I have ever had! And there's bonus chicken as well. The fries are really good and the baked potatoes are very salad. The fry bread is awesome and the coleslaw is super good. Has a little sweetness to it. Thanks to the dry Craisins. Definitely recommend this to anybody who is in the area, they do not take reservations and on the weekends it fills up and is super busy, the food comes out pretty quick is always hot and fresh not really greasy. Just really good really really good. I would give it more than five stars if I could.

New owner who is trying to make money by giving less food AND the fried fish loses its batter. Not a way to keep people coming back. Lots of angry people in the parking lot.

We tremendously enjoyed our baked fish, chicken, baked potato, coleslaw and the FRY BREAD!!!! Our wait person was fantastic, outgoing, and attentive. We tipped her generously. HOWEVER, before dining we had 2 drinks at the bar and paid with a charge card and put the 18% tip on the card. Low and behold, when we received our charge statement from the bar portion it reflected an increase of $3.50 above what was on the receipt. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS AFTER DRINKING HERE! I am giving a 2 star rather than 5 stars .. the meal and wait person are 5 stars; the bar is 2 stars.
