Peg's Countryside Cafe is the perfect side-of-the-road breakfast diner that oozes Midwest charm. On our first visit, we tried the short stack of blueberry pancakes and the blueberry wild rice sausage--absolutely delightful! The blueberries were impressively large, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The service was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel at home. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and the quality of the home-style cooking. We also loved the decor--photos of their patrons spanning years covered the walls, adding a cozy and nostalgic vibe. This is more than just a diner; it's a community spot with heart. Peg's is officially our new go-to brunch destination. Highly recommend!

This is what we have been looking for!My husband and I have been looking for a diner that has that good ol' classic, off the highway look and this is it! We've been here about half a dozen times now.The service is spectacular! Wow! We were immediately charmed by our waitress: great smile, peppy attitude, and attentive service! The food -- delicious and priced just right! The coffee has that rustic diner taste to it that brings a nostalgic aroma. They have very reasonably priced breakfast and lunch plates. My husband loves the Build Your Own Breakfast (BYOB) and I absolutely enjoy the Stuffed French Toast. It's their French toast made into a sandwich with egg, cheese & sausage and served with hash browns. The sweet and savory combination is to die for!If you are making your way up north on HWY 55, make a pit stop at Peg's! You won't be disappointed!

A very friendly place with lots of menu options. All of of the menu items sounded very tempting. The waitress was absolutely the best that I have ever had.I must have felt very hungry because I dove right in and forgot to photograph my plate. The only thing I can complain about is that I seem to have developed the ability to pick up on the taste of other foods in the oil that ends up being used to fry potatoes in. I'm not sure if that is because restaurants are being more frugal with their supplies or my taste buds have become more discriminating. Maybe I use less pepper Tabasco and ketchup now.The pie to go seemed a little pricey @ $25. My wife seemed to think they had a great reputation for their pies. I'm going to suggest you get your whole pies at Perkins both because they are a better value but also the taste much better. If you are going to try this place on a Sunday go early or be prepared to wait.

Family owned cafes will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel like I'm in someone home when I visited this cafe with my family. The service was friendly & so attentive! We had a big party & everyone was taken care of. I ordered the wild rice blueberry sausage breakfast place & was amazing. I wanted to try something new for my pallet & was surprised with how much i loved this dish! The food was piping hot & so tasty! I hope to come back someday again! A++!

I've been eyeing this place up for quite some time now and I'm glad I had the chance to finally check it out! I wanted to love this place, believe me I did! Walking in and feeling the hometown vibe and how cute the rooms are decorated. How you feel like you're eating at someone's home and the comfort that it brings. When the food came out I thought it tasted okay, but nothing that stood out to me. I had a farmers skillet that had some interesting and not too bad flavor combinations. I think that was my pick over the blueberry pancakes. I was thankful for the prices of the food. I wonder if I'd change my thoughts if I tried some more of their menu (: I'm more than interested in coming back to give it another try as I really enjoyed how it felt like time slowed down for a nice meal.
