Paulie's Signature Cocktails!
Paulie's meatball sub is getting strong reviews. Notice the simulator in the background! It has over 14 sports for you to enjoy!
The S.O.S (sweet on savory) burger is my favorite! Pepper candied bacon, walnut aioli, lettuce, and herbed cheese spread. So Good!
Looking for great pizza? Look no further! Handmade dough, scratch made pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, brick oven finish...yum!

The first thing I noticed about this restaurant was the great ambiance of the whole place. I was with my wife and a family friend, and we all agreed to com to this restaurant. We were rewarded with excellent service by DeJa. Deja said that she was rather new. I understand being new. But she rocked it. We were given the wrong menu when we sat down but to be honest I could've ordered either one. We were there for brunch. I can be traditional when it comes to breakfast food. I'm totally into variations of eggs Benedict. On this day, I tried the salmon eggs Benedict and French onion soup. I figure if the place puts time and effort into their French onion soup, it has to be good. The Soup was excellent. Therefore I went in on the eggs Benedict. Everything was cooked perfect. Wife had croissants and sausage gravy. Friend had breakfast pizza. Not one complaint. Did not try cocktails this time or dessert. Check this place out for brunch or anytime.

Good lord this place was awful, the food was Frozen pizza, good lord that was bad. It's obvious they are about to go out of business. Like maybe next week. The menu has like 9 things on it, all look awful.I can get better food from a ski chalet in springtime. It's also depressing, the colors are dark and it looks cheap, and no one is there. Maybe they knew this place was dead and didn't tell us. Massive mistake going here, I wish we hadn't.

Use a real plate...they're Tacos, they're messy...come on!This place has just changed names, I am pretty sure the menu is pretty much the same. Over all the food is good, nice selection of things...bar food, good quality, great Tater Tots!I came in on a Tuesday and was told "it's Tuesday Taco night". I went with the fish tacos, on a corn tortilla! Now, it was just 3 tacos which was fine, got a side of fries...my beef with this is the way they served them. Now Tacos are messy, that's just part of a taco...they put them on those nice little taco holders but then they put them on a plate that is the same size as the holder...just messy, use a regular plate..is it that hard? I also gave them a little tip which, if you really like making tacos you should know! Corn tortillas should ALWAYS be cooked...throw them in a pan, on the burner (gas or electric) and heat those things up. The don't rip as easy, the taste better more importantly.I gave that little Cook the Tortilla tip to the bartender...I will come back on a Tuesday to see if they take the advice!KT

We went in a cold day in January, it was so cold inside that I needed to wrap my scarf around me like a blanket. Our server was very nice and attentive. The French Dip was dry and chewy although the au jus was very tasty. The hamburger was just OK. The ambience was meh, although the fact that it was so cold inside that could have affected our opinion.

Hiya All, I went to the former Rock Elm eatery now known as Paulie's--pretty much the same setup with the tables and the bar. The overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. i will say that the service was timely and present. One item of note: perhaps we drew a newer service person who was entirely affable and attentive, but didn't know the menu very well. On the drink side, the bar had an assortment of local and regional beers along with a number of signature cocktails, and I could see the bar manager put some thought into their current offering. I went with Old Fashioned. a little heavy on the cacao liqueur, but maybe that is just me. The only other thing was the IPA. The beer was served a bit warm, and it could have been a better pour so that was disappointing. The menu was by and large basic restaurant/bar fair where nothing really jumped out at me to say EAT ME. We opted for the pretzal Charcuterie for starters. The server said it was cheddar and brie. We ended up having just cheddar? There were other changes, i.e., blackberries instead of what we were told. The mustard aioli and beer cheese sauce were solid. The sausage/salami ...there are better options. Overall, it's pretty good. For the entree, we ordered lobster surf and turf. First and foremost, I always appreciate it when the steak is served as requested. The steak was pretty good and the sauce was solid. I do have a problem with the "Lobster Ravioli" I don't know how much "lobster" was in it in order for the restaurant to call it "Lobster Ravioli", but it was basically crab, and I am less than impressed with that, and I will fight anyone who tells me different.I would certainly go back for a beer and a burger, but that's about it. I probably won't venture into the dinner options.

Rock Elm in Maple Grove has officially changed hands and become Paulies, a change I was excited about. In my opinion, Rock Elm was taking a bit of nose dive as far as quality and with, what seemed to be, unreasonable prices, I felt it was doomed. Not much as changed as far as staff and design. Durning my happy hour visit on a Thursday afternoon I recognized a few familiar faces, which I'm not mad about (staff was always great). The decor is EXACTLY the same with the addition of some golf simulators. Still a great tap beer list and the menu seems to be similar, yet different. I went with the Southwest Chicken Egg Rolls to start as they were on the happy hour menu for $7. They were pretty good and I would order them again. Slightly disappointing that they are only available for happy hour and not on the regular app menu. For my main entree I did the Free Spirit Burger. This burger featured ghost pepper curds, chili cheese fritos, guac, chipotle aioli. It also had pickled jalapeño's and lettuce which was not described/mentioned on the menu. I am fine with this as I like both but I'm not a fan of inaccurate descriptions. Burger was decent, good flavor, definitely over cooked from how I asked for it. Prices are comparable to what they were as Rock Elm (seem to be slightly more reasonable) and the quality of food is identical. If you like Rock Elm you will like Paulies, if you didn't like Rock Elm you won't like Paulies.

I ordered the chicken parm sandwich to go. Instead of fries, I requested (and was charged extra) for the beet salad. I was disappointed when I was handed a bag that only contained a sandwich. I had already left and didn't have time to go back into the restaurant to ask for my salad. In addition, no napkins or utensils were included in the bag. The sandwich was okay. It was more bread than meat. I might be willing to try Paulie's again, but will be checking the bag before I leave!

Modern upscale atmosphere in Maple Grove. Service was solid and friendly, which was a solid start to things. As for the food, I tried the Vat 17 Burger, which wasn't spectacular but certainly passable. The flavor wasn't overly complex, and a bit too mellow given everything that was included. All in all, it wasn't bad, but just not all that worthwhile for an $18 burger.

Food 2/5 - The food is the same as the previous business, Rock Elm. The frozen burger patty was disappointing and was lacking the "spicy/hot" factor from the ghost pepper. The watermelon salad was underwhelming and drenched in balsamic dressing. This place has potential but they need to step it up on the food. Service / Ambiance 4/5 - Overall ambiance is a cute neighborhood bar/restaurant. The service was good and our waiter was friendly and helpful picking out menu items.

Bar manager Ashley made our visit A+. Her service was exceptional. We appreciated her attentiveness though she was working both behind the bar and waiting tables in the bar. She was double multi-tasking! The cowboy burger was one of the best my husband has ever had. The barbecue meatballs were satisfying but not over filling. The salad was fresh, crisp and offered plenty of dressing on the side. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Thank you Ashley for making us feel so comfortable!
