Panaderia Ecuatoriana is an amazing small Ecuadorian bakery on Central Ave in Northeast Minneapolis. I've lived in the general neighborhood for a couple of years, but only visited this place for the first time a few weeks ago and boy, I wish I knew about it earlier. This place has a huge selection of fresh baked breads, cookies, pastries, as well as some more savory sandwich options and other amazing dishes. All of the baked goods are self serve in which you put on a plastic glove and load up your tray with whatever you'd like and then pay at the end. As for the sandwiches, you'd have to order at the front. I have only ever done baked goods here, but the staff have all been extremely kind to me.The baked goods are all amazing and super affordable. Most of the baked goods are between 1 and 3 bucks a piece. I have been back a number of times in the last few weeks and tried a lot of their dishes and they have all been amazing. The place is pretty small inside, but there are a few places to sit. That being said, it's definitely much more common to just do it to-go.

Randomly went into this place I drive by every day and I was very pleased to find one of the best spots in town. Highly recomended. I got a potatoe tortilla and some friend chicken and plantain.

I loooooove thiiiiiis plaaaaace! I've walked by this Ecuadorian bakery several times and feel like such a dummy for not stopping in. Once I finally did, I was greeted by a baked goods wonderland and a real nice guy named Omar. What a treasure! The format: Grab a tray and load it up (using tongs and pastry papers). Omar was incredibly helpful by offering us lots of info and suggestions. Like us, you'll have a darned difficult time figuring out what to pick from what seems like hundreds of Ecuadorian treats, both sweet and savory. So I think we ended up with 14+ items? And it all cost just $12! They have cakes, sweet baked goods, savory baked goods, hot food to order, savory sauces made in-house, candies, coffee, cute seasonal gifts and more! Some of our faves from our haul, and forgive me for not remembering the names: this cookie that looks like a Home Simpson donut and coincidentally is amazing when dipped into hot coffee, bun filled with pineapple jam, decorated sugar cookies, a baked good filled with cheese topped with sugar, and the fried ribs that came with a side dish (under $5!). Bonus - the ingredients are all listed in English.

Cool new Central American bakery in Northeast! They offer a number of different sweet baked goods, including a cookie baked inside a cookie! They also sell an assortment of dinner rolls. Coconut seems to be a theme here. (If you see "coco," that means coconut, not cocoa!) It was a pleasant surprise for me, as I am a coconut lover. For those that don't speak Spanish, shopping here won't be easy. All of the items are labeled with their Spanish names. Don't let that stop you though. Dive right in and have an adventure! This is an excellent place to grab some Central America baked goods to eat there, or take to-go.

Omar went above and beyond to show us the different kinds of bread they had. The bread was very affordable and delicious.

Tasty Treat with an hispanic flair. They have a wide variety of treats, perhaps a few more than the bakery accross the street. I just have to love the variety and the tastes of my youth. They even had rosquitas - yum.Of course empanadas and conchas were also well represented. One area two bakeries ... so many treats ... so little time.
