We had a wonderful time at the ordway! The staff were kind and welcoming. They helped guide us to our seats which were very comfortable for the multi-hour show. We had the pleasure of seeing the little mermaid and the acoustics were wonderful and complimented the singing acts beautifully. There were many drink options available from the vendors including beer, wine, and spirits. We did not find the drinks to be too overpriced even though it was a nicer venue. They had some light snacks and candies available for purchase as well. The show itself was phenomenal and I look forward to the opportunity to catch future productions. The only caution to new comers is the parking situation, be prepared to park several blocks off or settle for ramp parking - not much free parking available nearby but the beautiful walk through the park makes up for it. A gorgeous venue overall!

Visited last night to see the performance of The Little Mermaid and it was excellent. Now I want to watch the movie I'd always watch as a child. This is my second time to the Ordway this year and this visit was just as great as this first. The Music Theater is so spacious and clean. I learned that on 1/1/25 the Ordway is celebrating their 40 year anniversary of opening the doors. So wonderful!Getting into the theater was seamless and quick. Once our tickets were scanned, the gal directed us where to go for our seats. While walking up the first set of stairs, we got to see the large gorgeous Christmas Tree- so petty. Once we arrived to the floor for our seats, an Usher by the name of Linda explained where our seats were and actually walked us over there as it was a little confusing. Our seats were in a box on the right and the view was actually very nice. I'd get seats here again. Online when purchasing the tickets, it mentioned "obstructed view" but truthfully, I thought it was a perfect view of the stage. Price was reasonable. Our seat was an actual cushioned chair vs a pated theatre chair. I thought the seats were fine and it's inevitable your bottom is going to get sleepy after sitting for 2.5 hours in any chair. I felt the seats and leg room was very roomy. Greater than other theaters I've visited. It was a marvelous experience! Thai- Parking is street parking so just be sure to allow yourself time for that piece. Note, Sundays there is no fees on the meter so that's a bonus. I look forward to seeing a few performances in 2025 like Dear Evan Hansen and Mystic Pizza.

The Beauty and the Beast performance was excellent. This was my daughter's first theatre experience and she loved it. Out seats were pretty far to the edge however I don't feel like we were limited in any way from viewing the performance. Looking forward to our next visit!

The Beauty and the Beast was SPECTACULAR! The stage was set up so beautifully. The performers were so professional and brought the classic story to life. Gaston has the complete package I can't imagine someone playing that character better. The seats were immaculate and clean. The house is truly stunning. I do suggest if you would like drinks to get in line early. Don't wait during intermission to get them, you may not make it back in time. I think the service was very speedy it's just that everyone seems to have the same idea. My one last ask is to please respect others around you. Please refrain from talking or making repetitive large movements. You are feet away from others and your behavior can be very distracting. Allow yourself to be fully consumed by the story being told you would be doing a disservice to yourself as well if you decided to talk through it.

We went to the opera today at the Ordway. We saw Don Giovanni It was well done. They had an information talk before the show which really does help with understanding. They do run subtitles but it is still sometimes had to follow. Happy Mothers Day. Enjoyed the show.

After seeing many performances over the years in the Ordway Music Theater, I finally saw my first performance in the Ordway Concert Hall. The Concert Hall is beautiful inside and has comfortable, dark blue velvet-covered seats. We were able to get e-tickets just one week before Saturday's concert. Our seats were way up in back, in the center, so we had a great view directly straight down to the stage. Both the sound and the volume of the concert were perfect. No distortions, no ringing ears post-concert.The group called "Classic Albums Live" performed Pink Floyd's iconic album, "The Dark Side of the Moon", in its entirety, in recognition of its release 50 years ago, on March 1, 1973. After "the needle hit the blank space on the album", they played some other Pink Floyd hits, saving (my favorite) "Comfortably Numb" til last. No encores. They sounded fantastic and captured all the sounds of the original band so well. I never saw Pink Floyd perform live and I'm thrilled to have seen a group who emulated the band so well. It felt like a real treat. It's a drawback to only have access to their physical box office just one hour before any given performance. Otherwise, tickets can only be purchased online and include somewhat hefty fees (imho) although not T-master high. Purchase of our two e-tickets included a $10 'facility fee', and an $8 'service' charge. Drawback to those e-tix: no physical ticket stub to reflect back upon fondly.Parking: there's a surface parking lot across the street behind the Ordway. And during posted "Event Parking", such as there was on Saturday night for the MN High School Girls' Hockey Tournament final game, the charge to park for the evening was $25. Ouch! Ride-share or public transit would be a great option.

Came here for their production of Beauty and the Beast and it was absolutely magical. Their set design was stunning! Their actors were so talented and the show was very entertaining and nostalgic. I loved how the orchestra sits within the stage versus in front of it. I can't imagine there is any bad seat in this place. The show was 2 hours with a 20 min intermission. Drinks were available to bring into the show which was so nice. St. Paul really has charm and the Ordway adds to it for sure!

The Ordway is what it is - a performance hall. From traveling Broadway shows to Minnesota Opera, this is a hub for quality entertainment. You are greeted at the door with a fine dressed man in a tux and top hat - sets the tone! It's a shame we don't dress up like generations passed. Then, when you enter the lobby, you are greeted with well dressed ushers who are kindly ready to show you how to get to your seats. It was nice to learn that you can pre-order drinks, if that's your thing, for intermission. That way, there's not such as long a wait in the line. Seats are fairly comfortable. It's good to know that if you have a mezzanine box seat, they are individual seats with arms. They aren't the widest of seats, so if you are blessed with fluffiness, they aren't the most comfortable. As for parking, definitely look into the Kellogg Parking Ramp that's just to the south and steps away from the theatre. This garage is clean and well lit.
