It was so hard to pick from my favorite "Chicken Katsu" or wings. I went with the wings. They are the best Thai Chili wings I've ever had! The sauce tasted homemade and the crispiness of the wings was spot on yet juicy on the inside. Perfection! You can choose between rice, fries (which looked amazing) or macaroni salad alongside the wings. We also ordered the BBQ chicken/Kalua Pork and it comes with rice and macaroni salad. It was excellent and their Island Teriyaki Sauce paired perfectly with the meats. The sauce was so good we bought a small container to go for $3. This place is located inside United Noodle. So grab some asian groceries after you stuff yourself so you don't buy so much groceries and snacks like we did before eating.

Love me some Ono! This is my first time coming to the location inside United Noodle; typically I go to their North Loop location inside the Galley.Their BBQ chicken ($12) is perfectly marinated, and super flavorful without being overly salty! They give you a side of teriyaki sauce to dip in but I honestly don't even think it really needs it. The plate comes standard with 2 scoops of white rice and 1 scoop of Hawaiian macaroni salad, but I find it worth it to add the $2 upcharge to do 2 mac, 1 rice. The garlic noodles were also quite good--a perfect blend of savory and creamy! The portions for the mains are a great value for the price; if we weren't starving, each of these easily could've been two meals. I also got a SPAM musubi, which felt a little on the small side, but was still good. I love that this place is inside United Noodle so you can either choose from their Hawaiian juice beverage options, or choose something from the store's offerings. The staff is very quick, even if there's a bit if a line when you get there, and they've got about half a dozen tables for those choosing to dine on, which I think is super reasonable for the space they have. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other offerings in the future.

Literally sooooo goooood.... like SOOO GOOD!This is one of the best Hawaiian spots ever. All the dishes are tasty and the portions are huge. It's so so so yummy. The poke bowl was juicy and delish. The chicken Katsu was huge and crispy. The spam musubi was so flavorful. I literally can't wait to try all the other dishes. The service was super great too. They are super sweet and love talking about the food. :D (This is also located inside United Noodle which is a +1! Get some yummy Hawaiian food and then shop around!)

GO HERE! NOW! This food is F A N T A S T I C! The portions are honestly huge and so worth the price which I don't think is expensive at all. My boyfriend and I shared a katsu & shrimp combo. It came with macaroni salad, rice, and some different sauces. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. Some of the best I've honestly ever had. The katsu was crisp and thin and great. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. The staff is very friendly as well! Plus, afterwards you can grocery shop at United which is a great asian grocery store! I like the picnic tables and the cute little Hawaiian vibe

Did you grow up in Hawaiʻi and feel a lil homesick in the Twin Cities? Come to Ono Hawaiian Plates! The owners, Jess and Warren, are from Maui island and Pearl City, Oahu respectively. Jess, especially has a lovely energy that you would love to talk to her. They have local food that you typically would see on the L&L menu -- chicken katsu, bbq chicken, kalua pork, kahuku shrimp, kalbi, loco moco, etc. Their plate lunch comes with two scoops of white rice and one scoop of mac salad. I've never tried their poke yet but on their menu it says "#pokeisnotasalad" which makes me feel relieved because haole/U.S.-style poke tend to put more vegetables than fish on their poke bowls!I personally tried their bbq chicken, kalbi, kalua pork, and hurricane fries. They were definitely ono. My only complaint is that the kalua pork tasted a little dry...Note: This is my review for Ono Hawaiian Plates' location inside United Noodles grocery store.

After a recent trip to Maui I was missing the Hawaiian flare! I was pleased to see Ono located downtown in the food hall and eager went to try. I'll be honest- I hate this food fall, but I'd return again just for Ono....but if they happen to move I'll happily follow. After ordering at a counter you'll make your way towards a table where they bring your food out. The portions are huge! Honestly it felt like we were right back on the island. I got the kalua pig and it was seasoned well, with the addition of the mac salad it balanced out the salt and left every bit to hit alllllll the notes. You'll get two scoops of rice wich felt like enough in the moment, but I had a lot more pork left at the end of the meal vs. all the rice being gone. I don't mind that as making rice is super easy. We will return, I loved the friendly service and if you have any questions on the food they are happy to help! If you are in the area check it out!

I saw this last time I was at United Noodles but they were not open. This time while shopping for Asian groceries I made sure to get lunch there. I ordered the Chicken Katsu. The chicken was crispy fresh and the katsu sauce has a nice tang to it. The rice was perfectly cooked. I've never had macaroni salad so I don't know how it's supposed to taste but it was bland. I want to try other items some other time. The seating is picnic tables or high top bar. It was delicious or maybe I was just hungry.

Took a lunch break at Ono while shopping at United Noodles. My wife and I had the Pork Katsu plate with sides of fried rice and macaroni salad. The katsu's pork was oh so tender and flakey wrapped in its golden brown sheath of fried (but not oily tasting) blanket of panko. It was smothered in a brown sauce / pork gravy. I have never ordered this dish in the States, only while in Japan or preparing it at home. It easily competed with the best of the dishes that I have eaten in Japan. Watashi ga inamade tabeta tonkatsu ryōri no naka de ichiban oishīmono no hitotsudesu.
