Mom and Pop type shopUse it when I'm in a pinchPrices wee bit highEchoing several of the past reviews. I used to live in this neighborhood for a couple months about twenty years ago and would stop in. It has changed very little in that amount of time.Yeah, you're gonna pay a little more extra than you would at Target or Cub, but if you live in the neighborhood the convenience outweighs the slightly inflated charges. There is no other market in the area for quite some walking distance. Plus, it feels good to support the little guy.No alcohol, but pretty much everything else that you need for urban living. Picked up trash bags, laundry detergent and dishwashing pods when I just wanted to hoof a couple blocks and not hop in my car. Staff is friendly, but usually outside smoking. Give them a minute or two and they'll be back in a jiff and happy to help you out.

I only lived on Oak Grove St. for a year, but have formed the opinion that OGG is pretty OG. The natives love the place, and it's not hard for the newbies to see why.Yeah yeah, the stuff is "over priced." Well you're paying for the convenience of not having to walk 6 more blocks to Target. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's a little dirty, but maybe you're into that.

Just moved into the area with my boyfriend. We absolutely adore this place! Conveniently located just a few steps away from our apartment building, this place helped us focus our search for an apartment on Oak Grove. Although we do the majority of our shopping at supermarkets nearby, this place has been very helpful for the specific ingredients we may have forgotten to pick up or even grabbing a snack or soda for a stroll around the park.

I am happy to live so close to such a great little business. It really does have everything you need (even produce!) and the largest selection of Pepperidge farm cookies I've ever seen! You can get smokes, some first aid supplies, local ground Peace coffee, a wide variety of cold beverages, and a heckuva lot more. The fellow that helped me was congenial and kind and even advised me to be careful when I called and maybe not come because of how slippery it was outside. I will be back for all my last minute needs. I will definitely come here instead of the gas station whenever I can!

Eewwwwwwww. One the most high price & low quality of foods including a very dirty store. Watch out for the old fart Billy Luedtke with his big mouth who tends to gossip behind the neighbors and looks like that's how he maintain his popularity. I'm so glad I moved away from all that drama.I could not stand the staff, "Billy", mark, "Deb", norm, peter, travis, the occasional max.

This is a great neighborhood convenience store. I don't think the prices are out of line. One must expect to pay a bit more for the convenience of being walking distance. They have a good selection of ice cream!

The prices are a little high, but this market is so convenient if you live in the area! My husband and I stumbled across this place and obviously prefer to stop here for last minute items over the SA down the road. They have a good selection of pretty much anything you need last minute.

I don't think the prices here are crazy. Comparing this little shop which has a total of 3 or 4 employees, (who are also neighbors, I think) to Target/Walmart level of discounting is ridiculous. It's called a "convenience" store for a reason. I live in this neighborhood, and when I want something conveniently, I go here and am back home in 5 minutes, I do not walk to downtown Target which would likely take 1 hour all told, just to save a dollar or two! The prices are competitive with any normal convenience store, and much larger selection than most. The store is not dirty. Some items are dusty because no one has bought them in a long time, but nothing gross. They have a lot of stuff, some of it surprising - things which they don't even have at Lunds often (old-fashioned normal cat litter, diet ginger ale). Try finding an array of diet soda at other nearby convenience stores. They have almond milk. Other things can be surprising that they do not have, especially produce which is limited and not often especially fresh. I always call first before relying that they have anything, and they are always very helpful and know exactly when new stuff will arrive. Most dependable are supplies for making cocktails (lemons and limes), along with lettuce and onions, I think. They have a large community bulletin board for handymen, posting stuff for sale etc. The staff are very friendly. They are open until 11 each night. It's an asset to the neighborhood for sure.

Basically the clerks are good peoples but the 1) prices are outrageous, 2) they don't restock popular items (minimal ordering strategy) and 3) many items are expired or so freezer-burned you would need a cryogenic scientist to make them edible again. I shop here frequently because it's right across the street and sometimes Im too lazy to drive to Kowalski's or the wedge, but the owner uses location as an opportunity to price gouge locals who lack adequate transportation. That's just wrong. This place is like the opposite evil twin of Walmart (not that Walmart isn't evil): small, high priced and great customer service.
