Nucky's Speakeasy

Took my family out to check out some speakeasy bars and we made it in time for this place. We walked down the steps and looked at one of the mailbox for the secret password. The owner is really nice, he gave is a tour and history. Then lead us to the bar towards the back. The ambiance is like 1920 era, secret bar behind a post office. The kitchen was already closed, so we ordered cocktail. The bar tender gave us a sample of the different cognac she had on the shelf to see which one was good. We liked the one bottle on the left, however it was an expensive shot.

Thank You for a delicious and entertaining evening of drinks & appetizers, we loved our (1st) visit and looking forward to our next visit with flappers in tow!! Our Bartender, Katie, welcomed us back in time to an era of the '20's! Great ambience, we didn't want to leave!#katie #smoker

Oh I love this place! We've a few times and the food has been great and so was the service. We love the vibe downstairs! So cool the music and drinks are amazing! Definitely one of my favorites in Anoka

Shhhhh...it's a hidden speakeasy hidden practically across the street from the Anoka County Government Center! Actually it's downstairs in the old Anoka Post Office! First you find the entrance, then knock at the door. The gentleman guarding the door will help you find the "password" to get in. It's like going back to 1920's Prohibition Era! Our friendly door guide showed us around! I can't wait to find some flapper clothes & come here and try their appetizers with a Bees Knees cocktail!

New Ownership, plus now charging $10 per person cover charge.This was a 5-star nostalgic place to stop in for a few well-made craft cocktails. Now they decided to start charging a $10 per person cover charge, when all we cared for was stopping in for a few hand-craft drinks. Apparently they no longer prefer this type of customer.

Where to start? Service was poor (slow and rude). Had to ask for water. when it was delivered my first swallow included a wood chip. Thank goodness I noticed it was not ice. The steak bites were awful. Fatty and burntAsked for wine that was on special. Was charged inappropriately. Music was sooo loud we moved upstairs so we could have conversation. We will never return.What a shame. I'm a regular gal who doesn't typically complain, but had to write this to warn others. That is how poor the experience was.

Food was fantastic and the bar tenders were friendly and fun to watch mix drinks! The code made me feel silly (in one of the mailbox's) saying but was fun to experience!

The atmosphere at Nucky's is simply divine. Prepare to travel back in time to the prohibition era of secret doors and hidden passwords. The ambiance is enhanced by the live music featured on the weekend. The craft cocktails are created with skill and perfection. The service here is five star! We started our night with a fantastic dinner upstairs in Club 300 and the evening just got better and better as we headed downstairs to the speakeasy. You just have to find the time to check this place out! Anoka's best kept, little secret.
