Northwind Book & Fiber

It was a girls weekend at the cabin! With a bunch of readers and knitters we had to travel out of our way to Spooner to check out this amazing shop!We were not disappointed with the selection of books, yarn, and even some other arts and crafty items.We could have spent all day here! They had an excellent discount section where I found a few books on sale! What great value! Everyone at this shop was friendly and helpful. Definitely hope to stop back when in the area!

This store was a wonderful find! Great book selection with recommendations from the workers posted in front of the books. Fun puzzles, fantastic cards, super cute onesies, children and adult shirts with photos of classic books on them. There was even a book club happening in the back.

This place is huge and awesome. If you are ever coming through spooner, stop by and get some magazines, books, yarn, you name it. What a nice place for locals to gather for readings, events, etc. Seems like a great resource for the community.Worth a visit.

Big store, very cute. Nice staff. Wish there were more lonely Planet books in the travel section. We were only there for the travel books but still left with 2 books so it wasn't a wasted trip. Lovely business you have here.

Adorable store. I've been here several times on my visits to Wisconsin and I always find something that I, or sometime I know, will love. Their selection is small, they're too small of a business to have everything out there, but they can order things for you! And they have a really cute selection of toys and games!

Northwind Book & Fiber has some of the best selections on local/state/regional interests as well as current issues and politics. These are only of the my areas of interest as a college student from the area, but Northwind Book & Fiber is unmatched by any book store within an an hour's drive. If my family ever wants a new book, we always get it from them or have them order it for us instead of going to Amazon. Moreso, their customer service is wonderful. All around, this book store exceeds expectations in so many ways!

We used to enjoy this store, and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. However, we will never again shop at this business. I respect a private business owner to have their own "covid" policies, but when they do not align with current recommendations and believe in practices that can be harmful to children, I will not support them. We enjoyed every other store in Spooner and Hayward who all happened to be following current state and federal covid recommendations. Plenty of other places to find books and gifts, go shop elsewhere!

This is a wonderful store -- almost like a mini-community center. I go there for books, cards, unique gift items. Last summer, they hosted a talk by a local author. The turnout was great for a small town -- about 50 people -- and the discussion was lively and interesting.Last evening I attended an embroidery class at Northwind. They have a comfortable space in the back of the store that they set up with a large worktable and chairs. The instructor, Denise, was knowledgable, well-prepared, and very helpful to people of all skill levels. The other thing I love about Northwind is the type of people they attract -- friendly, open-to-new experiences, curious. The conversation around the table as we worked on our embroidery was full of local news, travel experiences, and tips and suggestions.For me, Northwind Book & Fiber is a fabulous destination in this part of Wisconsin.

A very inviting shop in the sweet town of Spooner. Great selection of hard and soft cover books, a great yarn and needlework section, beautiful and unique handmade offerings, local artworks, an excellent area for kids and a friendly staff - all in a neat old brick building. (We love the way the floor creaks!) One of our favorite destinations on our Wisconsin vacations!
