Have been coming to Butternut,WI my whole life. Northern Pines Resort has always been a great place to visit. Beautiful location, outdoor seating & view can't be beat! Honestly, the last couple of years, food has been mediocre. BUT I think 2021 is their year for a come back!! Came on a Saturday night for dinner, busy but good service. Prime rib cooked to perfection. Hot sandwiches with crunchy fries. Even the vegetarian found a nice salad. Came back for the Packer game on Sunday. Pizza & cheese curds both hot & fresh. Yum. Restaurant has been remodeled, is rustic with lots of wood. Bathroom remodeled & spotless.

This hidden gem of a restaurant was AMAZING! The steaks and brisket were top quality and melted in our mouths. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating, we have special food requests due to allergies. The restaurant has a great view of the lake and is super clean. We would highly recommend and will be coming back again next summer! Thank you for a fun night out Northern Pines!

Northern Pines is beautiful. With new owners and being recently renovated, the dining room is lovely and the food is great. My husband and I decided to have our wedding reception here, and the planning was so easy. (We even ended up changing things at the last minute and had the ceremony here too.) The food was delicious and we and our guests were kept full and happy. :)

Great hidden gem! First time trying Lena's Northern Pines Resort, what a great experience. Service was excellent, the server was great with our son and his 100 questions. The restaurant was very clean and sits right on butternut lake, with the leaves changing couldn't ask for a more picturesque place. The menu has everything from pizza to sandwiches to a variety of entrees including seafood and about 6 different types of steaks. Food prices were reasonable, adult drink prices are super reasonable as well. The food was excellent! No complaints at all. We will definitely be back. 7 minutes outside of Park Falls.

i have eaten there a couple of times, but my last visit on my birthday was horrible! the bartender was a complete ass! the food was average, at best. the walleye, if that is what it was, was undercooked, the frozen green beans were horrible. the waitress was nice and efficient, but everything else was not! would not recommend wasting your time, money or stomach.

Take your chances. We dined there on Friday, June 4 and it was very good. Service was friendly and the place was packed. Food was hot and prepared well. But we went back Saturday, June 5 and despite the dining room being half full, the service was very slow and the kitchen 'forgot' about our order thus a long wait. By the time the food was served we were literly the only patrons left in the dinng room and the order was not quite right or matching the menu description. We really want this esablishment to succeed. They need to work on consistency in service. Give them a try, but be sure to go with a lot of patience.

I recommended this resort to my parents, who were looking for a nice, quiet place to come up north for a long weekend. I'd been here to eat a few times, and thought it was one of the nicer places to eat in the area. They were satisfied with the quality of the room and the accomodations. They said the rooms weren't great, but plenty good enough if one wasn't looking for something really fancy. However, there was an issue. When my mom booked the room, the online rates said it would be $89.00 plus tax. She called and talked to the owner, Bob, when making the reservation, and he confirmed that $89 would be the rate they would be paying. However, upon paying their bill after paying, my mother noticed that they were charged $110 a night plus tax. She tried to contact the resort many times, and never received a return phone call or email. If there was a good reason for the upcharge, that's fair, but a business MUST communicate this with their customers, especially after numerous attempts to contact you. As a local who recommended this place to her, I am embarrassed that this is the way you choose to run your business. I can guarantee that I will never recommend your establishment to another friend or relative.
