This hotel was right by the lake in a beautiful town and we were so excited to get a last minute place to stay that even offered a jacuzzi in the suite. However, we paid a lot of money for this suite, so we were quite surprised when walking in, as the only nice thing about this room was the said jacuzzi. Definitely was not the worst hotel i've stayed, just was not necessarily worth the amount we paid.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Northern Inn and found the accommodations and staff to be extremely welcoming and first class. And at an extremely fair price considering that it's right across the street from Green Lake and within walking distance of every little shop and restaurant in town. If you're looking for a fun getaway just two hours west of the cities, this is the place to stay.

This hotel is adequate in every way, except the indoor pool area gets uncomfortably hot in the summer. Best feature is it's across the street from a park and swimming beach.

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Spicer, New London area, it doesn't get much better than the Northern Inn Hotel and Suites! This well-maintained hotel offers a great swimming pool and hot tub, clean comfortable rooms, a variety of choices on the continental breakfast, a perfect location and some of the best customer service I've experienced in 30+ years of sometimes nearly constant travel.I picked this hotel for two reasons, the amazing location - directly across the street from Green Lake's Salsbury Beach and Zorbaz on the Lake and right next door to the Spicer American Legion, which is open to the public for lunch, dinner and drinks - and the fact that it was independently owned.Upon arrival I was pleased to find our king suite exceptionally roomy with plenty of storage space, immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The room had a microwave and refrigerator with a small freezer that was perfect for storing water and snacks. The front room had a comfortable pullout couch that was perfect for sitting and reading or an afternoon nap after a long day of fishing, beach going or sightseeing. The bedroom with its big screen tv, writing desk, dresser, two nightstands, chair and super comfortable, king size bed, had more than enough outlets for charging all those electronics, great lighting and even a window that opened to allow visitors to enjoy the fresher-than-fresh Minnesota air.The pool area was clean and well-maintained with a hot tub that made for a great end to our days staying at the Northern Inn.Owners Slava and Pencho (I hope I spelled their names correctly) were friendly, quick with a smile and helpful, oftentimes going out of their way to make sure their guests had a comfortable stay at this gem of a hotel.I am giving this hotel 5 stars because I have been here twice now this year and had the same experience on both visits. So if you are going to be in the area, I highly recommend you give this small boutique hotel near the lake and within walking distance of everything in Spicer a try!
