I used to live quite close to this park and often biked here. I spent many summer days wandering around the gardens, playing games, and looking out on the lake while sitting on the gazebo-like thing overlooking Lake Minnetonka. As I got older, there were smokes and kisses snuck on that gazebo-like thing. Now whenever I'm on Minnetonka and we pass the gardens (and arcola bridge), the memories of past indulgences warm me.

I'm taking off a star, because their website made me believe this place was much, much larger than it really was. I mean they were talking about being able to accommodate several multi-hundred guest weddings simultaneously. I don't know how they'd ever pull that off. Maybe a single 50 person wedding at a time and closing the whole place down to the public. They are nice gardens, but not very floral. More like varieties of shrubs. I was looking for a nice place to relax and maybe lay on a blanket and read a book. This really wasn't the place for it. The noise from the road is quite pronounced (it's a 2 lane, 45mph county road). This is more like a classy backyard then a park or destination garden. I'd wager that the como conservatory is bigger. Still a very nice place, but I think the parking lot might be bigger than the planted area. They need more stuff, especially flowers. It would be nice if the stuff was labeled too. I didn't come across any labels while I looked. Also, note that dogs are not allowed.I think the redeeming feature for me was the cozy gazebo overlooking the lake. It does have a fantastic view.

I visited over 4th of July weekend with my Mom and Grandma. I had no idea what to expect! We had a bit of trouble finding it because I was looking on the wrong side of the street. The gardens were a lot smaller than I thought they would be, but I didn't do any research beforehand. The history is actually quite interesting. It took us maybe 30 minutes to walk through everything. Most of the plants were not labeled as promised and the day we were there they were doing planting/weeding. We went out to the gazebo which was really windy. That nixed any ideas of getting married here for me.

My wife and I got married here, so how could I give it anything less than 5 stars... we now live across the bay with our two daughters and it is a wonderful place to visit!! Head out on the Dakota trail and take a right on 51 and bike on down, or drive out... well worth the trip! There really isn't a good or bad time in the summer months to visit, great location and there is always something interesting happening in the gardens!

Yes, as others have commented, it is small but it is so tranquil and beautiful! You need to take notice of your surroundings and look at some of the trees and how massive they are an just imagine kids playing there a 100 years ago. The old pump building is interesting too.

Noerenberg Gardens is my favorite park in the Twin Cities. I could sit out on the gazebo or in the grass all day long and read a book during the spring, summer, or fall. The gardens are quite impressive and I can definitely see the appeal of having events and parties at this park. The lake is the cherry on top of an already-delicious sundae. I am a sucker for bodies of water, but Lake Minnetonka accents the gardens and proves to be an aesthetic success!

it is a beautiful garden and a hood place towalk around. however there are some unexpected rules here: no pets, no food or beverages (aka no picnicking), and no bikes. These rules are meant to keep the focus on the enjoying the tranquil and beautifully kept gardens. and to keep it free from trash.
