Nerstrand Meats & Catering

I grew up with this stuff. My great-grandmother lived on a farm down the road in Nerstrand and I spent many summer days in this tiny town. Ever since, Nerstrand wieners have been a holiday staple at our family gatherings (4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc.). Anything any one of the wandering Farmer clan gets near that town we demand they bring beer beef and wieners.A few years ago, this would have been a solid five stars. After my most recent visit last week, I have to bump it down to four due to artificial coloring listed as an ingredient in some of their products. There are ways to make this stuff, if not free range or organically, free from artificial colors and other ingredients. The staff is friendly and I enjoy eating the meat and I'll make it a point to stop by anytime I'm heading south of Minneapolis.

Definitely a great place for Smoke cured Ham, Pork chops, Hot Dogs, Beef Sticks, Ring Bologna, one of the best in a 100 mile radius of Red Wing MN.It's out of the way from most Towns, and a 45 mile slog from Red Wing.Prices are high but so is the quality, as a FYI, if you want Ham for Easter or any other occasions, CALL FIRST!!!They sell out often!The Dried Smoked Beef is phenomenal for Dried beef, Milk gravy frozen peas on Toast, think SOS!! DelishI was there 3/23... they had one Ham left, with an order for 70 two days later!! Try the pulled Pork, pulled smoked Turkey.They also cater Whole smoked Pigs, and all the Fixings for 150... $1,500!!! It's a great deal, $10/ person!

Stopped in today to look around I have to say the smell is enough to captivate your senses. I picked up a few things steaks, smoked chops, beef sticks, and brats. Although I haven't tried all of the things I have bought I did try the beef sticks and I won't say I'm even the slightest bit disappointed, they were fantastic. In fact I could t stop eating them and now I will have to return for more. This is a small shop in a small town with a real home feeling. I liked it and I will return. PS get the beef sticks!

The best beef sticks I ever had! Simply awesome! I don't have them often being in Texas. When my parents head up to Minnesota, they stop by ice chests in tow. Their dried beef is very good as well.

They sale some of their products at hyvee in Faribault mn like to know if it true they are celebrating there 125 on October 10

All their meats are top quality. Been enjoying it for years. If you're anywhere near here, you've got to swing by. Dried beef makes the best sandwiches

Everything we've ever had from Nerstrand Meats had fantastic flavor and was a quality product. The people are inviting, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Samples available and well worth the cost. Look for their products at HyVee or Fareway Foods and if they don't carry them maybe request them to start. Great business and wonderful people.

I have been going to this meat market for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed by any item we have purchased here.My favorites inlcude: Pulled pork (5lb pkg in freezer), dried beef, meat sticks (mild, cheese, or hot), ring bologna, frozen smoked pork chops, baconThe bacon, dried beef and pulled pork are my favorites. Some people tell me that the pork is a little on the salty side but for me it is just perfection. Family business and the people behind the counter are always very helpful and friendly.

Awesome! Great beef sticks, steaks, awesome pulled pork. Their dried beef is out of this world! Bacon, burgers, everything is always fresh and of the highest quality!
