Stuffed hash browns and cranberry pecan toast were delish--also had a bite of the sourdough toast which was excellent. Great service and retro vibes.

Small town diner with friendly faces and generous portions.This was my second visit here for breakfast. It is a small no frills diner and I love it! It has all the breakfast standards like eggs, pancakes, toasts, bacon, etc. I've ordered the same thing both times, stuffed hashbrowns. It was so good the first time why get anything different. Plus it's a huge portion that you can easily get 2 more meals. On our last visit it was fairly busy. All age groups enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner in true diner fashion. Little did we know a surprise treat was in store for all of us. Ice Cream! I'm not sure why but everyone got an ice cream scoop with their meal. It was really the highlight of the meal. If you find yourself on the Northside of Rice Lake stop on down at Nancy's! Promise you won't regret it.

Where the locals go for breakfast and lunch, Nancy's is a typical small-town diner with solid food. We stopped in for a late breakfast, which is served throughout the day. There really wasn't a question about what to order, as the stuffed hashbrowns have received high praise. They were so worth it. Fresh potatoes (you could tell from the peels and potato chunks), cooked to crispy perfection. Mixed in were cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, onion (you have a choice of meats and veggies to add to it). They were simply amazing. The inside could use a new paint job, that's one criticism. Otherwise, we came away impressed. Very friendly servers. Decent prices. Homemade pie for desert. I love places like this. You can sit and listen to the locals talk while enjoying home-cooked food. They have daily specials, like a pork sandwich, beef commercial, etc.

As of April 28, 2021, the restaurant appears to be out of business. There was no activity during the breakfast hour and there is a very large "for sale" sign in the middle of the parking lot. A call to the phone number results in a "cannot be contacted" message.

Went here for breakfast today and we had the nicest server and really great food. They make homemade bread fresh everyday. I had the potato supreme (I think this was how it was listed) which was like loaded hashbrowns with cheese and sautéed vegetables. My dad had the corn beef hash which he loved. And my sister had pancakes. Great quantity for the price. Great service too! P.S. it's cash only but they have an ATM there

Typical small town diner in rural America - you can order breakfast all day - and that is a good choice. Decent food, slightly run down building. Homemade pie, although I have had better.Establishment is non-smoking now. Still it is cash or check, no credit or debit cards. They do have an ATM in the back of the restaurant. Overall, fine place for an inexpensive lunch.

We come to Birchwood once a year for fishing and have to take a family member to rice lake for dialysis 4 times during our time here. We always stop here for breakfast while waiting. It's something we have grown to look forward to about our trip! Such a great little diner, great food, homey, and the sweetest staff you'll ever meet.

Wow! New owners. What a change! Clean, cheap, and delicious! Try their Cranberry Pecan bread or bread pudding!!! Great service and friendly atmosphere! You must try it.

This was a very nice little diner. We decided to stop for breakfast on our way home since it wasn't far off the highway. Not only was the food great but the staff was excellent as well.

Great food, prices, and service was awesome for having a smaller staff! Very unique feel as well.
