I feel good about shopping here. The brands are all high quality and either local, organic, equal exchange, or fair trade. The prices can get high on some items, but this motivates me to buy produce that is "in season" and take advantage of their extensive bulk section. Don't forget your reusable containers for bulk staples like flour, oats, rice, beans, nuts, etc. My favorite deli item is the Florentine burger. I also really enjoy their selection of vitamins and personal care products. At checkout, you always have the option to "round up" to the nearest dollar, and your change is donated to a local organization. Last but not least: Anyone can shop at the co-op. However, you have the option to purchase a membership that has some perks. There is a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. As a member, I get coupons and special in-store deals.

This market was incredibly nice, reminiscent of Whole Foods and Sprouts. It's the kind of place I'm gladly frequent and join--if I didn't live over an hour away. I'm glad that non-members can shop here, though, because I really enjoyed walking around. They had an aisle with bulk goods in bins, which I don't often see around here. I was mostly there to check out the cheese selection, and what I found pleased me greatly. They had a nice variety of cheeses, including many top-level local makers. They also had diverse jams, honeys, and crackers to go along with cheese; those were arranged atop the cheese gondola and on a nearby shelf. Checkout was fast, the checker very welcoming and pleasant. I'd definitely visit this market and others in the chain if I come across them again.

All three Mississippi Market's used to be great places to shop as little as five years ago, and all the time before that. I used to look so forward to walking into and Mississippi Market because of the great ambiance. Now I actually think twice of going in because of the gloomy atmosphere..it's now the most depressing grocer you can just about walk into. It used to be a place that focused on the food and the farmers, but now it's all about catering to the lowest and weakest form of humanity and whatever the monthly woke du jour is. The stores used to be spotless, and the employees were a nice mix of personalities, but what they mostly shared in common was kindness and an appreciation for quality food, grown locally or respectfully.Workers and customers were largely happy (this was before workers and customers started engaging in brain dead virtue signaling). Now you walk into any Mississippi Market and it seems like someone turned down the lights.I do frequent the East 7th location the most now, and out of the three that is by far the best store-it's still super clean and the cashiers are usually nice.

I had a great experience at this coop. Generally I find these grocery stores unapproachable. Today I was having a hard time deciding what to get and Joe from the deli was very helpful in helping me decide what to get. He helped me find what I was looking for and set the tone for the rest of my time at the store. The rest of staff was kind and their produce was pretty incredible. They have some of the biggest yams I have ever seen

So thankful to have a Mississippi Market in my neighborhood. I'm able to pick up many staples I need and fun deserts for a special occasions. My kids request the vegan chocolate cupcakes all the time; they are so rich and chocolaty! The key lime pie is amazing! You must try it! This store is always clean, organized and filled with a great selection of local foods, gifts and unexpected finds. The staff is always friendly and available to help. My membership benefits with quarterly rewards savings is a great way to save when I need to stock up on bigger ticket items.

I've been a co-op member here and at with other co-ops for years and I've had it with this location. I'm not sure if it's the neighborhood or what, but I've constantly met the most judgmental, passive-aggressive shoppers and staff here. Most recently, when I asked one cashier (who was also a manager) if we carried makeup remover, she launched into when SHE used to wear makeup she didn't use remover and she's since seen the errors of her ways (no longer wears makeup). And just today, mid-April 2022, a younger (30s) woman just in front of me in line with her maybe 9-yo daughter, both of whom were wearing masks, quite loudly complained about how terrible living in the pandemic is and "...when will it EVER be over for ALL OF US??" I was not wearing a mask. In a time when the COVID vaccine is widely available and used, variants are continually getting weaker and the case load in MN is low, this co-op fosters an atmosphere of aggression. Finally, I recently tried to buy nothing but locally-sourced food to see what kind of products I could find, and walked out with barely any groceries. Unless you consider two states away as "local," the vast majority of products are brought in from other regions or countries.

I've been going to this specific Mississippi Market since I was 16. I started my vegan "journey" as a teenager and the neighborhood I grew up in barely had any vegetarian/vegan grocers, until I found this place. Now that I moved to the Minneapolis area, MM locations are a little out of the way, but I still try to make the trip whenever I can. I am ADDICTED to their vegan chocolate cupcake.

I only stopped in here for a little while to pick up some water and snacks. It's like a smaller version of Whole Foods with really friendly & helpful staff like at Trader Joes.I like their Mission Statement: Mississippi Market creates positive change in the community by influencing the production, distribution and enjoyment of food. I think we could all appreciate and responsibly enjoy food more these days. And if you were wondering like I was as to what exactly a co-op is... http://www.msmarket.coop/about/co-op/I also wondered what's with the name... maybe it comes from the Mississippi River going through most of Minnesota??

This co-op was founded with friendliness and community and customer service in mind. Today cashier Kori was more legalistic, non-customer friendly and bureaucratic than the bank or pharmacy I just visited. I bought mealy bad peaches here previously and the produce woman let me sample the peaches , and said that since I was a member she thought they would exchange them for the bad ones. Clearly Kori was out to find a criminal and assure people that friendliness or community is the opposite of what she provides. I am exhausted at the cold, unhelpful attitudes here. This is just a very expensive grocery store. The order staff refuses to add gluten free products, frozen dairy area does not carry many dairy free items...so why visit this co-op? Pathetic that staff do not know quality products or have attitudes that were common from this co op when it was founded.
