Miller's Cheese House

We saw a sign for Miller's Cheese house on our way to Rice Lake from Trego. Being a FIB (from Illinois) everyone in my vehicle wanted to stop and get cheese, so we made a note to stop the next day when they were open. We walked in and there was a gentleman behind the counter. He was very helpful and answered our questions. We ended up getting a variety of cheese and fudge. He made recommendations and even advised the best way to serve a couple of the specialty cheeses we purchased. He even went out of his way to bag some fresh cheese curds for us because they had run out and they had just been delivered right before we arrived. If I'm ever back up in the area, I'll definitely stop in again.

Millers Cheese House is one of the quality specialty cheese shops one finds throughout the dairy state. This one, in addition to a wide variety of cheese including aged cheddar also sells a bunch of specialty jams, mustards, maple syrup, and pickles. In addition they've got a small collection Packers and Badger gear including cheese head hats that every Wisconsin visit needs. And, there's ice cream as well-all the core food groups are covered.We stopped in to browse the cheese and walked out with a few extras. Definitely worth a quick stop if you are in the area.

My family has vacationed in Chetek since I was a child. Whenever we're in town we make the short trip to Rice Lake to stop by Miller's! It is the cutest little building with the neatest selection inside.Recently purchased by new owners, they have a wide selection of cheeses (free samples), meats, spreads, homemade fudge, and ice creams! They also have souvenir type gifts as well salsas, jams, candies, etc. My absolute favorites are their banana pepper & garlic cheeses. You will not be disappointed! If you are looking for some yummy Wisconsin cheese to bring back with you, make a quick stop at Miller's.

If you're heading through Rice Lake Wisconsin, and looking for wonderful Wisconsin cheese, this is a must stop! Such a wide variety to choose from! The freshest cheese in the area! I stopped here every time I'm in town! They also sell other things like pickles, maple syrup, jellies Etc.

The cheese selection is amazing, however the people are a bit hit and miss and make sure you find a restroom prior to visiting because they do not have a public restroom.

We were recommended to try Miller Cheese House. The old lady was rude! Our 2 year old had to use the bathroom and she wouldnt let my husband take her there. He had to run across the road to the liquor store. How ridiculous! Looks like they had some good cheese tho.

The new owner seems like a real bitch. Plus the place smells stale and unkept. It is unfortunate how this place has slipped. Be sure to try a different online site before shopping here.

Absolutely LOVE this store. Actually, it is more than a store - it is like visiting family. It was my first visit and I felt like I was at home. Getting to sample cheeses and sausages to determine which ones would suit my taste was such a bonus. If you are ever in the area, make sure that you stop by. You will definitely be glad that you stopped. Oh - make sure that you try the sharp cheese and for those who love root beer - try the Golden Maple Root Beer. Enjoy!!!!

All my cheese was spoiled! They shipped it to me not insulated and no cold packs. When I called on 1/18/2020 at 1pm, the guy yelled into the phone at me- "it's winter out and we don't pack it that way- tough luck"! He then hung up the phone! It's not winter or cold everywhere- we don't live in Wisconsin!It says on all of my spoiled cheese- "keep refrigerated "!! We called back to speak to the manager or owner- he once again screamed into the phone and said-" I am the owner, tough tough tough, I'm not holding anyones hand here"! He then hung up again! If they don't care if the cheese is shipped non-perishable. How sanitary is the cheese etc in the first place. Stay away so you don't get sick!!! We had to throw away all this expensive cheese. I hope the real owner contacts me so we can have a civilized conversation!

Worst service ever, never been to this before so I thought I would check it out. Went in nd was greeted by a nice young lady dish up ice cream. There was another old lady taking care of the cheese area, my sister asked if she could try the smoked Provolon cheese . The lady snapped and said "I'm not doing samples today". She said ok then I'll take plan. The lady took out a knife, cut of about 1/4 lb. Threw it in a bag. Didn't ask if she wanted it sliced. I asked her if she wanted it sliced and the lady said I can't do that although the Slicer was right next to her. Clear this lady needs to find a different job. VERY RUDE. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
