Milkweed Editions Books

Milkwood Edition Books is a small bookshop located within Open Book! My friend and I stopped by to visit when were exploring downtown Minneapolis over Memorial Day. It's small but well curated (there dozens of books that caught my eye - and tons of books I'd never heard of). They sell their own books (Milkweed is a publisher) but also lots of other books/authors. Definitely stop by if you're in Open Book!

What a warm and inviting place to spend some time. Grab some coffee. Browse some books. Head upstairs to the outdoors patio and relax and enjoy. Great space. Great books. Outstanding coffee.

I am shocked there's not more reviews about this place. Milkweed is a fabulous bookstore adjacent to Open Book (which is also a wonderful space with workshops and interesting print-related displays and activities). Milkweed has a combination of both well known books and independent books. Last time I left with seven new books I wouldn't have ever otherwise found and six of the seven were fantastic reads, that's a great percentage for me. A really pleasant place if you want to discover something new.

Fabulous new bookstore in the historic Open Book building in Minneapolis. Focuses on independent presses, but carries a well-curated selection of books from major publishers as well. Bright and airy, with beautiful displays and even a reading nook. This place is amazing.
