I dropped around $24 bucks at this place and had a less than stellar experience. The food was definitely not worth the price tag, but the quality also fell short. The house special fried rice had very little shrimp and it over-saturated with soy sauce. It didn't taste great. The chicken side dish was very dry. This kind of experience, at least for me, only makes this place a gamble. Which means, either the food will be good, or it will be what I got. At these prices, I cannot gamble on quality and taste. I am certain that I won't be returning. The price tag alone is enough to keep me away.

In south Minneapolis lies a little holeIn the wall Chinese restaurant that is the kind of gem you want to discover. Family owned and made fresh, each item you order is hand crafted to perfection. Moo shu pork, dumplings and fried rice are some of my favorite dishes but the menu is diverse and delicious. Seating is limited and covid has been tough so take out may be your best option but check this place out, it won't disappoint!

Mei Inn is by no means destination Chinese food, but I'm quite happy to have it in my neighborhood. This place is a hole in the wall in a small strip mall. It has some limited space for dining in, but takeout is primarily the name of the game here. You can order online or call in your order and food is ready quickly. The menu is long and has many of the usual suspects that continually hit the spot. The Kung Pao doesn't pack a lot of punch, but contains a number of fresh vegetables, their hot and sour soup seemingly contains everything under the kitchen sink, but is still tasty and like everything coming out of the kitchen, the portion sizes here are borderline beyond generous (especially when considering their very affordable prices). If you've got a hankering for some orange chicken or other Americanized Chinese dishes at reasonable prices be sure to give Mei Inn a call.

Disappointing.Based on the few positive reviews I read, I expected at least typical "strip mall" level Chinese food. None of it was good.I need to start off with the fact that this was delivered (BiteSquad.) I don't think the poor food was a result of it not traveling well.We got the egg rolls, cream cheese won-tons, General Tso's Chicken, and chicken fried rice.If this review was just for the appetizers, I'd probably go up to 2 stars. They list the General Tso's Chicken as "spicy" and let you designate "mild", "medium" or "extra spicy." Having my doubts on how spicy it might be, I went with extra spicy.MAYBE the end product was a medium. It certainly didn't seem spicy to me at all. And the texture and looks were unpleasant.Fried rice should be easy. It's a simple comfort food. The flavor on this was not good.

Overall, the portion sizes was fair given the price point. When you take into consideration the quality of the food; that's an entirely different story.I ordered house fried rice, house egg foo young, and Mandarin Chicken. House fried rice had a total of 2 shrimp within the entire order. Minimal pork to speak of. If anything, it was essentially, chicken fried rice. Could've ordered that, would've saved some cash. While plentiful, the rice order didn't taste fresh. I was able to detect/taste the oil used in the wok more so than the ingredients within the fried rice. This includes the alleged chunks of chicken that were included in the dish. The house egg foo young, while we're generously portioned..... More like cabbage egg foo young. There were more shreds and chunks of cabbage than anything else. If I were interested in cabbage, I would've ordered a salad. If it were on the menu. Also, 1 question... Why in the **** would you was 3 large egg foo young patties, in a paper carton/box used for fried rice, full it full of gravy; knowing good & **** well it's going to leak out ask over the darn paper bag you provided? Where's the logic here, if any??The Mandarin Chicken...I did observe a generous portion of a "chicken like substance". Unfortunately, didn't taste like chicken. I'm satisfied to ask what animal in question did the "chicken like substance" was derived from? Lastly, the menu said this was a "hot and spicy dish". I found the dish to be as spicy as a glass of Enfamil. Need I say more??

The food is very good, but very expensive, regular folks can't afford these prices. Not so long ago, I stopped in twice a week. I haven't been for a long time, simply because of the prices. If you can spent $$$ on food it's great food!

We ordered Singapore noodles, two wonton soups, chicken wings, and mango sticky rice desert all for under $50. This order fed a family of 3 and we still had left overs. Good food, generous portions, and great price. Friendly and fast service, considering we ordered during dinner rush on weekend.

nice people and the flavors are good but that's where it ends. Just got an order of chicken in garlic sauce. All kinds of vegetables but hardly any chicken. Got chow mein the other day and they didn't do a very good job with that either

My husband has been going to this restraint for 13 years and I have been going for the last 6 years. I've never once had a bad experience and have always gotten wonderful tasting food. With every time I go there, the service is better and my food never changes in quality. I live across town(s) and I make a drive out there frequently to satisfy my craving! This is one of those many holes in the walls where you could never go wrong with anything you order off the menu. If you looking for a great price and good quality food you'll get it from here. I'd add a picture to the review but again I couldn't wait to eat such great food from my favorite spot!
