Had this bookmarked for so long and was excited to try! Walking in, there were a couple people before me. I didn't wait too long to have my order taken by a friendly staff member. Service was great. Unfortunately, the items weren't as flawless as expected. The best items were chocolate coconut croissant (tasted like an Almond Joy!), the salted caramel cronut, and the filling of the tart. The rest of the items had issues that affected my enjoyment of them -- the tart shell was too dense and over baked thus unpleasant to bite / cut into. The tart filling was great and refreshing tho! The chocolate-hazelnut croissant roll was not flaky like a croissant should be, and the chocolate-hazelnut cream inside was very thick and heavy. Overall, this has potential but very heavy and overly rich. The kouign amann also had a similar issue -- I think the sweetness/sticky glaze affected the bake of the flakiness it should have on the inside. It feels like it was stunted. Inside the kouign amann, it looked like it was as dry as bread. Again, I wanted to like the desserts here but overall disappointed. They looked much better than they tasted.

As a special treat for an event I ordered a cheesecake from here. While it was delicious, I don't think it was worth $75. The pastries also looked mid and were pricey. My impression is this place is popular just because of the aesthetic and conspicuous consumption.I knew nothing about the place when I went to pick up the cake Sunday morning at 9 am. There was a line of people outside the door waiting to go in. It seems that they don't allow people to queue inside, which I guess is fine, but I would have appreciated a more expedited process for those picking up prepaid orders. The inside looked small but I didn't adventure around. They were prompt at getting my order from the back.

Marc Heu brings the best of French pastries to Saint Paul. Super flaky and buttery croissants perfectly baked with a little crunch on the outside and buttery fluffiness on the inside. The passion fruit raspberry tart is a divine specimen of sweet and tart balanced with a creamy center. The cafe is cute, the staff is friendly. I highly recommend stopping by in the warmer months when you can enjoy their Parisian style outdoor patio seating.

Food 5/5 - A cute and delicious popular bakery in the twin cities. We came later in the day so unfortunately most items were sold out but we lucked out and got what we could. The pastries were fresh and delicious! Looking forward to coming back and trying more. Service / Ambiance 5/5 - Service was helpful and quick. The staff here definitely keep the line moving. The place was clean and well maintained.

Really lovely bakery with ornately decorated pastries of the week, definitely a must try if you're in the Saint Paul area!Met here on Saturday morning with a friend, it was my first time. The shop is so clean and pristine with clean white lines and an amazing aesthetic, I've never been to Paris before but I can imagine it being similar? A luxury bakery if you will, they only had about 8-10 bakery items to choose from but a nice variety. I was intrigued by the mini cakes and the cronuts (doughnut and croissant hybrid). Pictures and videos tell all, gorgeous delightfully decorated and not overpoweringly sweet pastries, variety to choose from. They have seasonal items and you can also pre order cakes. You have to check out their website to see the assortment of cakes, truly stunning!

I've been wanting to try Marc Heu's for awhile now and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the combinations that Marc Heu has invented or altered to his creation. My favorite and so heard was also customers favorite was the mango passion fruit tart. Two fruits I love the most and the mix was light, potent in flavor, and just overall well put together. There was another favorite, the one that was in the chocolate. SUPER milky and had an ice cream kind of feel to it but i loved it! As you can see there are the logos on the patisseries, be aware to not eat those. Customer service was great and informative!

I've been here multiple times and they have been VERY CONSISTENT!The Bake Goods are definitely top quality. It is pricey but you get what you paid for.The thing that bothers me the most is their vision of this bakery. The staffs are trained to be cold & unfriendly (you can tell because they look uncomfortable doing it)They make me feel like Julia Robert in "Pretty Woman" when she goes into that really nice boutique in Rodeo Drive. This approach is really a big mistake, BIG mistake! It is one of the most "PRETENTIOUS PLACE" I have ever been, and I grew up in LA! Someone's BIG EGO and their vision really overshadowed this amazing bakery. It is definitely not a place you want to go to start your day, because who wants to start their day feeling like s**** (excuse the language there)When I ask if I can use my personal cup. She look at me like I'm Jack Nicholson in "As good as It gets" when he came with his own utencil. My whole purpose is to be more enviromentally friendly. Her answer was "they don't like personal cup back there" (pointing to the back room). So I decided to go across the street for my coffee and to crossover to the sunny side of the street. There is no actual health code for this even big corporate like Starbucks, Caribou do it (Across the street at Mississippi Co-op welcomes your personal cups, and they have excellent choice of coffees)Also I don't understand the "Sweet Wash" on the butter croissant, but that's just my personal preference. It is still a VERY GOOD Croissant.

What a TREAT to come here!I was visiting friends in the Twin Cities. Knowing I've become a bit of a Chicago foodie, they wanted to come here to show off one of the best pastry shops. Man oh man, this place exceeded expectation! We split a variety of pastries, and each one was delightful in its own way. We came in the summer and enjoyed the patio. Line was long but quick. Service was excellent. Amazing spot!
