Went here as a family for dinner and it definitely exceeded expectations. We ate outside but from what I saw of the inside it is a very cozy atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food, and we thought the beer cheese soup was excellent. The staff was also nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend going if you are looking for more of a unique experience without breaking the bank!

On our way back from Fargo to Minneapolis we decided to skip the restaurant chains and try something local. The decor inside is really neat. There were a bunch of antique looking books in the dining room. I noticed stained glass windows in the washroom that were pretty. The plum sauce on the wings was tasty. The burger was juicy and the potatoes were good. Portions were generous for the price. Our server was very attentive. The chocolate mints at the end were a nice touch. The restaurant seemed very family friendly as there were quite a few children. Since we went on a Sunday it seemed like this was a popular after church destination.

My wife and I ate here last night, and our experience was kinda mixed. First of all, if you go into this place knowing what you're going to get (like we did) you'll enjoy yourself a lot more. I don't know the history of the building, but it appears to be an old house that was transformed into a restaurant; at least that's what it appeared to be. Second, this place is not handicap friendly; I had to pull my wife's wheelchair up a couple of stairs to get to the bathrooms, and even then the stalls aren't wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Our first server (more on this later) was great! He was very personable, and was very attentive to our table, which was even more impressive considering that he was the only person there waiting on tables (aside from the bartender). We decided to start with an order of their Brandied Plum Wings; WAY better than we were expecting! I would have to say that these wings were probably in my lifetime Top 5; simply amazing! My wife ordered the Teriyaki Chicken; it came with choice of side (she went with Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes), and either salad or Beer Cheese Soup (she chose the soup, for me). Unfortunately, the soup was one of the worst-tasting beer cheese soups I've ever tried; lacking in cheese taste, and the beer was unnoticeable. Sadly, the only flavor came from the Italian croutons that came with it. My wife said she loved the mashed potatoes, but that she could barely taste the teriyaki on her chicken (which looked like it was pounded quite flat).I went with their Pub Burger; 1/2 lb. patty with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, ham and BBQ sauce. Despite the size of the burger, it was cooked all the way through with just a slight bit of crust from cooking (loved it), and everything else on the burger tasted great. I upgraded to onion rings, and they weren't dripping in grease (always a bonus). Just after our server brought us our food, he informed us that another server would be taking over as his shift had ended. Nothing we haven't experienced before, but this is where things definitely went south. We were both nearing the end of our drinks, and I was hopeful that our new server would be stopping by shortly to get us both some water. Three different women sped by our table, several times, over the next 15 minutes, and no one stopped. After trying to flag someone down (unsuccessfully) several times, I got up and went directly to the bar. I informed the bartender that we would like two glasses of water, and to also order dessert. Mind you, this place was not busy; there were maybe seven or eight other couples in the restaurant at the time, but these three waitresses were flying around there like the place was packed, but not one of them took the time to stop at our table! The bartender apologized for the confusion, and she ended up being our server for the rest of the night. How sad is that! We ended up getting a Salted Caramel Brownie Sundae for dessert, and it was actually pretty good. I paid for our meal, and we left. I would have given this place 2 stars, but I feel obligated to acknowledge our first server and the bartender who helped us. The food was a mixed batch (ranging between 1 and 5 stars), and the "confusion" when different servers took over certainly didn't help.

Wow this is some amazing food and hospitality. Also, the most festive ambiance!!Came here and had Guinness and local Fergus beer at the bar, next to the fireplace. Also had the special appetizer of crab stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were not soggy AT ALL and the crab was generously portioned on top. This is better than any crab dip I've ever had in my life. I could live inside of a giant bowl of this stuff and never be sad. For dinner we moved into the dining room and ordered shrimp scampi, scallops, and the special of filet/ribs. All the meals come with unlimited salad bar which had fresh lettuce and veggies and all the different dressings you could dream of. Also had bread with three different kinds of whipped butter: plain, honey, and garlic. The garlic was the best. The entrees were all phenomenal. The filet was marinated in Guinness for an entire day and cooked perfectly medium-rare. The scallops were a served in a VERY generous portion and PERFECTLY cooked. The shrimp scampi was also perfectly cooked- no chewey fish yay!! I drowned myself in the wine/garlic sauce and dipped all my broccoli in it.I could eat here every day. Definitely an awesome place for groups, families, variety for picky people, great prices, and generous portions. YUM.

Excellent service and a cozy bar/lounge area make for a good combination. Throw in a pate of macho nachos and you are set for a delightful evening in Fergus Falls, MN. I found to order a large size of the nachos is to order for the table. We had a party of 9 and there were still nachos left over. A suggestion, perhaps a t-shirt for the person that can eat the entire plate, I enjoyed the beers on tap that includes Guinness. A large screen tV is prominently located for the sports fans. The lounge and bar area offers a quiet setting with plenty of opportunity for casual conversation that doesn't have to be shouted across the table. Thank you for a enjoyable experience.

This is a very fancy restaurant but you feel like you are in a friend's home. Very unusual furniture from the 1800s. I had the mushrooms and my boyfriend had the fettuccine Alfredo. We liked it very much.

We had a reservation at 6:30 pm. We were seated but waited 20 minutes for initial service. We ordered the special which was Prime Rib and the reason for our visit. We waited another 25 minutes for plated salad. They no longer have the salad bar. We then waited another 50 minutes before food came. It was cold. Not as flavorful as it usually is. Baked potato was soggy, tepid, and plain. Waitress did apologize for long wait. At this point did not want to send food back and wait any longer to eat. It was 8 pm. With food quality, temperature, and service we will not be back.

I ordered fried shrimp dinner. It came on about 2 TBS. Of cold rice. The shrimp were dark brown and burned and dry. The salad came with my meal instead before it. My husband had a burger and the bun was totally soggy and the potato waffle fries were cold. Never again.
