Lowertown Event Center

Lovely small room for the ceremony (we were at a wedding). The whole building has great design elements. Very groovy stairs in the center of the room, nice angles and attention to detail were all on point. The large hall is gorgeous, and a truly enviable wedding reception locale. The crumblesome stone walls offset the highly modern feel of the rest of the plaza. The three, rustic, arched, little niches at the one side kept the word "oubliette" pacing 'round my head all night.The upstairs bathrooms, by the bar, are WAY NICER than the rather decrepit ones by the reception hall... truly the only strong disappointment of the night.The fact that we were able to take the skywalk from our hotel was the cherry on the whipped cream on the chocolate sauce on the ice cream. Not that the wedding served ice cream.That would've been SWEET!

This is a beautiful wedding venue! As a wedding photographer for 10 years, I really enjoy working here! There are so many awesome spots for portraits! The atmosphere is so unique and rustic! The staff was also great to work with!

Beautiful location for any event hampered by sub-par catering. Be sure to taste test judiciously!

This place disappointed me greatly. Im Not pleased with my experience there or how it is ran. I've also heard the owner shit talk many of her clients behind their backs ..... sad

Get married here!I'll never forget the moment when my husband and I walked into Mears park after touring the Lowertown Event Center and he turned to me and said "Is it just me or did we just find the place where we're going to get married?"This place is as good as it gets. It's a beautiful downtown location that somehow also manages to look like the inside of a european castle. The owners and managers are great to work with and do their best to make your day perfect. It fits a huge number of people, which was important with a family as big as ours!I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. They were the perfect location to make my day into everything I wanted it to be!

We have been to two weddings at the Lowertown Event Center and disappointed both times.The first time was for the ceremony and reception. There is a lot of noise in the ceremony room from above due to foot traffic in the old building and a popular restaurant being above the ceremony room.The reception area is very attractive and looks beautiful especially with uplighting.The staff needs a lot of work...weddings should be fun and personable but the staff is often times in fact rude nor do they have respect for the minor details as shown in the example of the men's room in the picture I posted.

What a disappoint! Management is unprofessional & out-right rude! If I could give this place a 1/2 star or none for that matter I would.After our experience, we won't be choosing this venue & I'm so relieved! It's very apparent that this is a side-gig for pocket-cash for the owners and that they don't actually care at all about the experience of their clients except for what's in their pocketbooks. Best Advice: Keep up with your searchPotential Venue choice? Read the review below before proceeding with booking a tour...Back story: Charice, event coordinator/owner, agreed to tour with us on a Thursday evening. When we called to advise we were running behind due to traffic, we were informed then that we could take our time as the bridal party was currently rehearsing for their upcoming ceremony. Within that same conversation, we too determined that Charice wouldn't be running our tour, but her "assistant" Alex would. Upon arrival, which was roughly 15 mins behind our set-time for touring, we were made to wait an additional 30 minutes for the rehearsal to conclude before actually being able to see the space.**not sure why you'd have potential clients endure a 45 min wait and not schedule your showings on separate days from your tour tour dates... Experience with Alex: Unfortunately he was not informative. He knew nothing about anything related to the venue, pricing, etc. and actually on numerous occasions, we found that what was being told was contradictory to what information was on the printed handout given. He took no notes and mentioned multiple times that we should reach out to Charice for questions.**Why am I touring then with you then?! Side note: Charice was presently at the venue when we arrived and it was implied by Alex that we would at one point meet her. Sadly, she chose not to introduce herself to us, check-in on us upon leaving (which occurred prior to the end of our tour) for the evening, or even apologize for her rudeness or follow up via phone or email with us regarding our experience.Summary: This venue is ill-managed & has bad business etiquetteAdvice to future brides: Find another venue! The pictures online are great, but lets be honest, who wants a wedding ceremony & reception in an enclosed basement anyway?**I wish all those luck working with this staff and venue! Make sure you read all of the paperwork handed over to you and confirm before signing that contract that the information being presented is accurate.#byefelicia

I absolutely loved Lowertown Event Center for my wedding venue! We had our wedding in December and wanted a venue that was cozy and and inviting and Lowertown was just that! Plus they have lounge furniture, chiavari chairs, a separate space for a ceremony/cocktail hour, beautiful chandeliers, etc. etc. I could go on and on... Charice and the staff there were absolutely amazing! She just took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about a thing. She was also so wonderful throughout our planning - so accommodating and helpful and quick to respond. I would absolutely recommend Lowertown Event Center!
