Lai Wah

This place has been an Apple Valley fixture for a very long time. They started as a full service restaurant at the SW corner of Cty Rd 42 & Cedar, and move to the present location at 140th & Pilot Knob Road more than 25 years ago. Not currently offering inside dining, but if you are looking for the best Asian take out food in the South Metro area, this is the place to go.

I created a yelp account to warn everyone that instead of beef, they're serving the people of Apple Valley raw slices of Hillary Clinton's box in their chow mein. Soaked through the bottom of the container before I even got home to the disappointment.

We really enjoy the food from Lai Wah, but in a delivery order two nights ago. They forgot to send us the sauce for the egg foo yung. And that's the best part! I faked it with some packet mushroom gravy I found in the cupboard, but it just wasn't the same.

The foods are just like the name Happy. The best Chinese foods that I ever had. Reasonable price and foods are fantastic delicious.I highly recommended everyone in the neighbors come here for the Chinese foods. You won't disappoint at all.

This little hole-in-the-strip-mall turned out to be surprisingly tasty. The vegetable egg rolls seemed quite home-made, with a hearty, cinnamon-bias and crunchy cabbage. We ordered Beijing Chicken and Sai Dai Pork, as neither of us were familiar with these dishes. The pork was particularly enjoyable, with a smoky grill flavor, a gooey brown sauce and a good spice kick. I don't like it when Chinese food is drenched in oily, generic, too-sweet, runny brown sauce. This sauce was none of those things.The chicken was more familiar, bearing strong similarity to sweet and sour chicken. However, it had a significantly stronger spice kick and was more sour than sweet. It was definitely not stingy with the onions, green peppers and pineapples, like many typical S&S chicken dishes.We ate in, and the decor did not initially inspire confidence, however I recommend you don't judge this book by the cover and try them out if you're in the area.The only reason it's down a star is the lack of ambience, as others have reported. Service was fine, a little curt, from a Chinese-born dude in his 30's, and we were the only people dining in.

Got it for delivery for a group of 7. Food was fast and great! Nothing to complain about on my end.

So we ordered from grub hub at first 30-40 minutes for a delivery that turned into 90 minutes. I'm not sure if they've changed spices or ingredients but the food we got was gross, this was the last chance I just thought someone screwed up last time but we won't be ordering from Lai Wah again. Btw when you order on grub hub they up the charges and give you less food that's not how they do business won't be going back

Ordered takeout tonight, pad Thai, cashew chicken, cream cheese puffs. All very good! First time ordered, and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely will be a returning customer!

Ordered 3 weeks ago no problem. Ordered Friday night & did not have their new menu that just came out. It was 8.00 more than last menu. All she said was we changed our menu! Big price increase !

If we could give it a zero we would. As avid Chinese lovers we love the opportunity to try new places. Unfortunately this has to be one of the worst places south of the river. Not only were we missing itema, got wrong items, but we also found metal shavings in our food from a wire scrub brush which makes sense with the soapy taste. I also tried their try 3 apps, egg rolls, chicken wings, and cheese wontons... and all where over fried and unable to get to the inside contents. Even my 3yr old didn't want to eat the cheese inside the wontons after peeling away 3 layers of over fried dough.
