Lafayette Club

Amazing wedding location in a timeless building on Lake Minnetonka. This historic club and golf course boasts lakefront golf and a wedding view with a gorgeous ballroom. It is very difficult to book and is a membership club but our event was fantastic too to bottom.I officiated the event and it is one of the classiest venues in our area. Their vendors are fantastic and you have the option of a boat ride for the bride and groom which was fun for the wedding party!

Toured here for a possible wedding venue today, so TBD if we actually end up choosing it BUT the space definitely has a good flow with outdoor ceremony space, ballroom, cocktail hour room, and a deck. We're intrigued by it. The baseline price is cheaper than a lot of places downtown, but it's still hefty. Plenty of parking.

The club is under new management. I had a arugula and beet salad that was tasty. I had a prime rib sandwich with horseradish and arugula in a naan pita served with tots. I enjoyed it. They have a new drink menu. I had the Beauregard mule. It was filled with blueberry delight. The rose lemon spritz was very smooth with rose water vodka and pomegranate flavors. We ate in the 1882 pub, small and cozy. We had really good service.

Stayed 3 nights at the hotel as a guest of a member for business - nice, clean, old-style hotel rooms...great views of the golf course and/or Lake Minnetonka, and the staff couldn't have been any friendlier. You can't go wrong with anything in the dining room - the cheddar hash browns were really tasty. I didn't play the golf course (but I did walk it a couple of nights) - looked like a solid track to play. I'll be happy to stay here again in the future.

I don't golf golf so I don't know if I can give a proper review. I'd basically give my sandwich a 2.5, I could make it at home and I usually rely on Trader Joe for home meals. The kids who work the snack shack are all polite and very nice. They get a 5. Minnetonka lakefront property = 5. Their pools and portion of the facility I've seen seem old, like they haven't been updated in long while. The front desk woman was not the sweetest, but a woman who I think is an exercise instructor was super nice and insisted on helping me with the doors.

I was just there for dinner last weekend. They had half priced bottles of wine which rocked. I had the Walleye cracker crusted with a salad. They had 5 large anchovies on the salad, I loved it. The salad was very good as was the fish. It came with spinach and a rice mix. I really like the atmosphere at the club and it is very kid friendly, we had all 3 of mine with us for dinner. If you want a more formal setting hey do that as well. They have great buffets and around the holidays they always offer something special for kids and adults. My daughter has taken tennis there and the teachers are great. The pig roasts are superb and everyone who works there is very professional. One of my favorite things about the club is the view of Lake Minnetonka and that the swimming pool is never crowded. I would suggest it to anyone that lives on the lake.

Enjoyed our dinner with a lovely view of Lake Minnetonka. Beautiful grounds and building. Everything was updated including bar and bathroom. Dining area comfortable and perfect for a quiet evening out. Wait staff very friendly and efficient. I like my wait staff to be efficient and unobtrusive, and they were. Chicken and waffle starter was quite good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their entrees (walleye, salmon, spaghetti and roasted chicken) and espresso was a great way to end the evening. We were there Saturday night and there was a wedding going on but I never heard or saw the guests. It would make a stunning wedding venue.

This club is situated on what I consider to be the best piece of property on Lake Minnetonka, and maybe in the Metro area. Of all the Country Clubs around, this one is far less expensive and as such draws younger families. It's also a club people join when they are trying to figure out if a "Country Club" lifestyle is for them. Serious golfers wouldn't be happy here, but it's a fun short course to play on occasion. It has a large tennis community.Now, while Lafayette isn't normally open for everyone, you can have weddings there without being a member. I've been to a couple and they do a really lovely job. They also host a great Labor Day party with tons of games for kids, drinks, food, and a fabulous fire works show and everyone is welcome.

Very unprofessional attitude. Not a lot of accommodation. Not flexible. Did not want to show me the brides suite , I saw it by insisting . She even gave me the key of the suite and told me to drop it off at the front desk on my way out. Did not even bother to accompany me to the front door. Very snub, for somthing very cheap.
