La Merced Super Mercado

Authentic mercado with authentic tamales (tamales & fresh foods on weekends). 6 fresh tamales (they were still warm) for $10-3 of each (3 green chicken & 3 spicy red pork). I made a mistake-I should have gotten MORE! They were so tasty and fresh! I was also impressed with the varied types of cheeses that they sold. I can't wait to get back there for more tamales (and to check out other items)

Hidden gem. High quality Mexican store with a huge selection of Mexican candies. They also have high quality meats. The staff is very friendly. It appears to be a family owned place with the family running the store which is pretty cool. I drive from Minnetonka just to come here. It is just a better experience than a lot of the other mercados around the Twin Cities.

I absolutely loved this shop! Seemed like a family owned business that was super friendly and helpful in finding things. I did not try anything from the meat department but will definitely be back next time for that.
