Our family LOVES eating at Kyoto for AYCE (All You Can Eat) Japanese Food. Of course you can get higher quality food elsewhere, but this is the place to go when you're all starving and ready to order a lot of yummy food QUICKLY. Ambiance is very casual. Decor hasn't been updated in quite a while. It's comfortable, but I wouldn't want to come here for date night. Service is hit or miss. Some servers are top notch and some will mess up your order multiple times or forget a few things. Our family favs:-Beef Fried Rice (our fav fried rice of all time!)-Snow Mountain Roll-Dynamite Roll-Tempura Roll (Dinner only)-All Tempura items-Beef Teriyaki -Green Tea Ice Cream Pro Tips:1. Try to come in for lunch on weekdays. The AYCE price drops from $33 to $20 per person, and only a few items are dropped from the menu (sashimi and a couple of their specialty rolls). 2. If some people in your party are not hungry enough for AYCE, ask for Ala Cart menus for them. They just ask that the AYCE people don't share their food with you.

This is a great sushi restaurant in the south metro. They also have excellent Udon and tempura menu options. I have never been disappointed in the quality I received. The "All you can eat" option represents good value compared to ordering from the menu. My wife and I typically get more food for about 2/3 the price when dining in on vs ordering from the menu. I don't personally feel that the selection is diminished in the unlimited option vs the standard menu. The restaurant can get a bit loud during peek times, but that is to be expected. There are plenty of tables, so we have rarely had to wait. Servers are timely in taking orders, though sometimes the sushi kitchen can be slow. The "hot"/non-sushi kitchen is always incredibly fast.

Rude waiter who delivered us wrong food, then doubled down on it being right when it obviously wasn't ours. The guy had a smug attitude from minute zero and thought we were morons who couldn't tell Yellowtail from Tuna. He proceeded to avoid and ignore our table for twenty minutes. Kyoto used to be pretty good value for decent quality and now it's $40/person to feel like you're dining at Chucky Cheese. It's barely worth the review honestly. My wife and I have been going to Kyoto for over a decade and never received service like that. When trying to give the feedback the waiter didn't seem interested nor did the other staff so we won't be back. I figured just share it here and move on, there's other sushi spots in MN, just go there instead.

i love kyoto! they've got a wide range of menu options including sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, ramen, udon, hot and cold appetizers and lots more. one roll that i was surprised they didn't have was the alaskan roll (salmon, cucumber and avocado). despite that, they were able to make a salmon avocado roll. service is very quick. they have all your can eat as well as a la carte. i personally think the price is worth it for lunch, but not for dinner ($33.95). overall i had a great experience. overall rating: 9/10

Overall this is a decent deal for all you can eat. Portions have gotten smaller over the years and quality of rolls are not as good. Service is ok. Make you feel guilty for eating and question you when you ask where is your order. ClIm it has been sent. Just uncomfortable at times but today service was faster. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon.

Last Sunday, I was craving ramen. I did a quick search and found Kyoto Sushi. It was five minutes away from where I was.I drove over to this eatery, which is fairly close to Best Buy. I backed into a parking spot steps away from the entrance and walked into the restaurant. I was quickly greeted by a woman. She asked whether I was here for the all-you-can-eat menu. I had no idea that this place was an AYCE joint, but you could also order items off the regular menu. I said yes to the former.I was first seated at the bar. I asked for a table instead. I got one. It was around 1:50 pm, so there was plenty of seating. This place charges some fee if you order way too much food and can't finish it. I don't do well at AYCE places as far as volume goes. However, I like coming to such establishments because I get to try a bit of everything.I needed something to drink and got a Diet Coke. By default, you get a glass of water, which was nice. The soy is low-sodium. I appreciated that attention to detail and that decision.I got a bunch of items to start:- Rainbow roll- Chicken wings (2)- Shrimp tempura (1)- Chicken ramen- Beef teriyaki- Seafood udonI felt like I needed more food after the first round, but was getting full and got the following:- Dumplings- Green tea and strawberry ice creamYou know what I didn't enjoy the most? It was the craving that I had. The chicken ramen was okay. I found it bland. I think if the broth were miso instead of the milky, boring broth, it would have been perfect. The surprising dish that wowed me was the seafood udon. The lack of flavour in the ramen was totally made up in the udon. So flavourful! The udon noodles were chewy and perfect. I loved the veggies in this dish. The seafood was fake crab, which wasn't surprising. I have been thinking about going back just for the udon. The chicken wings were delicious. They were full wings with lots of flavour. They were messy to eat, though. No one knew me here, so it didn't matter how much of a mess that I made. The shrimp tempura was huge. It was so crispy with all the tempura around it.The rainbow roll hit the spot. You get different varieties of fish. The roll tasted fresh. The dumplings were deep-fried. They were pretty good. The beef teriyaki was outstanding. The char was perfect while the beef stayed juicy and tender. You must have the ice cream. Super creamy. The green tea and strawberry flavours were rich and delightful.I was here for lunch. It was $22 for AYCE. It was a decent price for the variety and quality what I got.I want to come back for more. I can save a bit by having lunch on a weekday, but I'm fine returning on a weekend.Great find! I wanted ramen and got a whole lot more.(3)

What ever I say about this place is very less. I love this place. They have amazing sushi buffet made to the order. Man I never eat sushi anywhere else. Love there fresh sushi made to the order and they are quick. They have a huge menu for lunch buffet and more items added for dinner menu. There service is quick and maintain the place clean and neat. They even have appetizers, fried rice , noodles and many many more. I would recommend this place anytime for anyone who loves sushi. This is absolutely amazing place

Kyoto sushi has gone down hill. You used to be able to get normal size sashimi and sushi but now it's just miniature size. The sashimi came out and we were so shocked to see how tiny it was. Definitely not worth going to anymore unless you just order rolls

It was a normal -35 below day, and me and my friends wanted some sushi. From the painful cold walk into the store, to the painful food service we had, this sushi place certainly should not be your number one pick. Many rude comments were made by our server from the moment we ordered our drinks. She was rude and constantly disagreed with our food decisions. We could not eat in peace as our server was glaring at us, and gossiping to her co workers. The food we ordered was decent, yet our dumplings were had ordered never arrived to our table. Unfortunately, this restaurant has lost multiple new customers. Do not recommend this sushi Place to anyone.

Went in last night for AYCE, server was extremely rude and in a rush from the start when the restaurant was not even full and was well after rush hour. Our party ordered we received our food, when the bill came we told the server to keep the change as we had paid in cash she returned with the change and made a smart remark yelled and said "(this much amount) for 3 people??" Started angry laughing then yelling at multiple other staff members in a different language. I decided to not address the situation with a higher up as this was embarrassing enough. I have came here for years and after last night WILL NOT be coming back. Tips should be appreciated AND NOT DEMANDED this was absolutely not okay, managers and supervisors need to address this situation and train their staff and employees to have better manners
