I made it ugly when eating it but the pastry tastes really good! Just like the way it was from childhood memories. They offer free cucumber water in-store as well. Friendly-staff. Busy traffic though since it's inside of Asia Mall.

Keefer Court is a nostalgic place for me. My mom used to bring me here when I was little and we used to bring home a box of Pineapple buns to eat. It was one of the only Asian bakeries that I knew of for a long time. I was so unbelievably shocked and sad to find out they were closing but I was BEYOND thrilled when I heard they were reopening in the Asia Mall! We came during their soft opening, waited in a very long line and got an entire box of things. Everything was fantastic. The staff was kind and keeping things very cleanly and stocked. The bakery was gorgeous inside! Such an improvement from their old space. Being able to share this memory with my mom once again is truly amazing.

This post is bittersweet. During my time living in Minnesota, I didn't even bother trying to find a Chinese bakery. I learned recently that Keefer Court Bakery has been around for nearly forty years. With that track record, it was time for me to check it out.Parking is interesting in this part of Minneapolis. The bakery is located on a triangular plot, thanks to three streets. There's street parking and a parking lot behind the bakery. Some folks simply park illegally and dash in. I decided to park on the side street and pay. I'd rather be safe than get dinged with a parking ticket. There are two sets of doors at this bakery. You go through the door on the left when you are facing the store. You exit from the one on the right. The maximum number of folks in the bakery at one time is four.I waited patiently as there were two people ahead of me. When it was my turn, I got a nice woman helping me out.I got six items:- Sticky rice wrapped in leaves- Hot dog bun- Steamed barbeque pork bun- Steamed barbeque pork with Chinese sausage bun- SPAM and egg bun- Lemon custard bunYou can also get roasted duck and meals, such as the house special noodle soup. It comes with roast duck, barbeque pork, and shrimp wontons. Sounds delightful! You can pay with either a credit card or cash. I paid with cash. My haul was roughly $25. It was neither ridiculously expensive, nor super cheap.I thanked the woman and left with my box of goodies.I had the sticky rice wrapped in leaves for dinner in my hotel room. It was authentic, as it had pork belly, half an egg, and sausage, with mung beans and sticky rice packed around the filling. Delicious!I ditched having breakfast downstairs for a few days in favour of my various buns. They were so good. The steamed barbeque pork bun and the one with Chinese sausage were packed with so much filling. The barbequed pork was yummy and moist. I love Chinese sausage, which made that bun extra special. The steamed exterior was fluffy and perfect. The hot dog bun had a spiral look to it. The bun had sesame seeds on top. The hot dog was plump and generous in size. Yum!SPAM and egg is the perfect combination in a bun. It's also fitting that SPAM hails from Minnesota and isn't frowned upon in Hong Kong cuisine. Not that I needed breakfast on the go, but this bun is perfect when you want a handheld breakfast or snack any time of day.I like lemon custard. I've never had it in bun form. It was so good. The filling has a slight tartness to it. It was also slightly sweet, which I appreciated.I had a great experience. I came by at nearly 5 pm, so some of the more popular buns had sold out. I recommend coming here earlier.I learned a couple of days ago that this bakery will close at the end of December. Just when I found a decent Chinese bakery in the Twin Cities, I need to continue my quest. Ugh!I wish the owners a happy retirement. Here's hoping that I can squeeze in one final visit before this place shutters for good.(462)

My first time trying a Chinese bakery!I absolutely loved the fresh bread and pastries. My favorite was the bbq steamed bun, it was really tasty-- had tofu with a bbq sauce inside. This was perfectly paired with my coffee. The coconut creamed filled pastry was also delicious. I shared the bakery goodies with friends and they all liked it as well.I would recommend giving this place a try! You'll keep going back for more. I know I will :)

Keefer Court Bakery..Keefer Court... ummmm the almond cookie that was a last minute thought was one of my favorite things. Anytime i can get a cookie that is GOOD and not overly sweet i am all for it! Like no joke i crave it and will be back in with full family to pick out all the goodies! I didnt even have a fighting chance on any of the other treats we grabbed hahaha Nate, Layla and her friends killed everything...so its clear i need more! But i did get my little bites and...the butter cream cone...like what... This place is a little piece of bakery magic that i cant wait to try all the things and eat all the things. Cause on top of Bakery items they have other foods! Thanks for having us Elites try all your goodies!

This review is looooong overdue. Keefer Court has been a favorite bakery of mine ever since I stumbled upon it during a Zombie pub crawl cerca 2009. My now-husband and I needed a bathroom and decided to buy something to give ourselves the ethical ok to use theirs. As we wandered inside we saw people eating dinner (they do have a full menu), but not feeling too hungry, we opted for a quick bakery item. I saw a curry beef puff in the display case that resembled something my Indian father used to make when I was little (similar to a beef samosa, but using puff pastry), so I bought it with curiosity and low expectations. They were even kind enough to heat it for me. But that first curry puff was SO good, it led to another. And another. And then two more to share with our friends. Keefer Court's curry puffs remain one of my favorite treats to this day.Since then I've tried just about every type of bakery item in the case, but I consistently get the curry puffs and red bean sesame balls - one thing that's savory and one that's sweet. Eventually I will need to order a real dinner there because I imagine it's delicious as well, but I'm the meantime the bakery keeps me coming back again and again.

Rude service - Asian male working at 1:50 on 11/5Like chill out, no one else was in the bakery and you want to be a dick for what. Stay home if you're not happy. Tbh everything looked delicious but services was terrible. Definitely won't be wasting my time and money there. I'm glad I returned what I bought because i shouldn't have been disrespected in the first place. Writing on yelp since you can't see my review on google.

Love finding a place to get bao buns (both baked rolls and steamed bao). My husband loved the curry buns. I used to live in the cities and was just visiting - excited to find a second(?) location with easier access for us.
