Ordered the chicken lo mein and it was TERRIBLE. Way too much celery, mushy, no taste, and didn't even have chicken in it.
Can't go to an Asian restaurant without some hot tea!

This place is the best place for to go Chinese take out, the portions are huge and they are willing to sub something you don't like (like egg foo young) if you pick one of the combo meals. The curry chicken is the best with fried rice it is not spicy to blow your head off but does have a mild kick to it, my other go to combo is the classic sweet and sour again great with fried rice - the portions are huge enough to feed 2 people you won't go hungry!!The hot and sour soup and egg drop soup are pretty amazing here too, I always get one of each with the combo meals (me and my hubby share). We haven't dined in at the restaurant as it's usually very packed with customers and the space is pretty small I don't like be crowed when I'm eating out, they do have a buffet too but it is very tiny about the same size as your typical kitchen table at home with only a handful of items on it.Take out though is awesome, I would recommend trying them you won't be disappointed.

None of the food we ordered tasted as it should have. The chicken was the worst of all. Couldn't quite figure out what it did taste like other than they dipped it into bleach before cooking and serving it. Waitress wasn't very pleasant either. They did have good sized portions, but what good is that if it's not good to eat. People in the table next to us were saying similar things as well about their food.

Well it's been Four years since I've been in this joint and it's still DAM WRONG .Ordered a combo to go. #1 Chicken Chow Mein, Egg roll, fried rice with misfortune cookie. Remember the Chow Mein from a can 40+ years ago ? This was several steps below the canned slop of the'70sLook carefully at the photo. Those light colored strips are supposed to be the Chicken meat!? Bad Deli pressed dark chicken along with soggy, sodium soaked Celery in a gravy goo.The misfortune cookie was Chewy and soft !Done with this place.

Have ate at Kam Wongs for years. It was as good or better as I remember. Did a takeout order. But the restaurant was very busy inside. Will be back

Flavorless, expensive, boring...but good service.I completely agree with Kimberly R. This is a great place to eat if you have no taste buds. If you're a Lake Wobegon type Minnesotan that is fearful of anything that tastes like a spice or a hot pepper or anything other than salt & pepper, this place is definitely for you!I specifically asked the server (who was very nice and very efficient) that I wanted my "Beef with Pea Pods" to very be spicy. And by "spicy", I told her, I mean HOT! They completely ignored me. There was no hint of any flavor, spice or heat of any kind in my boring beef stir fry. My mother's "Kung Pao Chicken" special was equally flavorless. Could we at least have a little salt? Maybe (gasp) a dash of MSG could help things along. My egg rolls were equally boring and sucky. They tasted like dough and cabbage, mostly flavorless. And I needed a high-powered scientific microscope to locate any meat. Typical - cheap.Last but not least, all of this boring stuff (in moderate quantities) was surprisingly expensive. It cost a whole 29 bucks for one hot tea, two egg rolls (one order), one special, and one dinner! I should have gone to DQ and grabbed a couple of chili dogs instead. It would have been cheaper with a lot more flavor.FYI, the service was awesome and our server was great. Too bad the food didn't match up to the great service. What a let down.-Daddy Maxx Retro

So not good. The salt was overwhelming. The shrimp was just hammered. The Lomein was so over cooked it was almost goopy. It was strangely enough watery. An over preponderance of cut white onion and and water chestnut and not near enough broccoli or peapods. Chow Mein #1 Combo plater apparently is a vegetarian dish. Never again. BTW I do not live in Hamburg, I live in Oak Grove - 7 miles north of Kam Wong's.The only worse Asian based food I had was in Fargo.Fargo.Enough said.In fact I am bringing all of it back to them. I spent 40 dollars on this.

Food was edible but wasn't very good. They watered down the soy sauce and the lo mein had no flavor. The sugar donuts were the only thing that satisfied me. Would not eat here again.
