After a nice bike ride, we stopped in for lunch. We both had the broasted chicken special which was delicious. It came with mashed potatoes or fries and coleslaw.

We were on our way to taking our girls to Bible camp and just stumbled onto this place. We will definitely make it part of our tradition now. The back yard where we saw was glorious with flowers galore. I got a salad but it was massive and the homemade dressing was Devine.

Jordie's is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. It's 5 miles west of Royalton, MN, off hwy 371.It's part cafe, craft store, ice cream, and pie shop. Cozy indoors, tables covered with table clothes to make me feel like I was eating at Grandma's house. Outside is an oasis with its large garden, fish pond, little nook areas to relax and eat. We had their soup and salad buffet. Soups were homemade, and the salad bar was fresh, providing all the basics. Granny's potato soup was my favorite. Next time we stop by, we are going to get the broasted chicken! The employees were super friendly and helpful. They talked about the history of the 1907 building. Hotel, turned bar, then cafe. Currently, three generations of women are making this place special.

First of all: the food. 5 stars for real food, made by local cooks (thank you Sonya!), homemade soups by Granny (thank you Rosella), homemade pies & desserts (again-kudos Sonya). Good food at good prices! I loved the Beefy Radish Soup today! My Turkey Cranberry/Wildrice Sandwich was excellent today!Ambiance is 5 stars when you eat in the garden or in Sontie's Pavilion. They set us our bicycle group of 25 in the pavilion-which was very considerate!Jordie's Trailside Cafe is my destination when on the Soo Line Bicycle Trail!

The outside area is super cool and it was nice being outside on a nice breezy day. There is a lot of convenience here with soda machines inside and outside. The outside machine is in the sun and so the sodas aren't cold in that one. The inside machine is cold. They offer a Gold Peak Tea dispenser but it didn't taste very good.Liked items = cocktail sauce, Alaskan pollock fish fry basket, Tressel SandwichVery faith based environment.

I simply love this place. It is in the middle of nowhere but right on the bike trail. Outdoor sitting area will take you back to a different era when things were a little kinder, gentler and slower. It is made for cyclists but car drivers are welcome too. The food is made to order and served fresh of the grill. Food quality is 4-5 stardPrices are very reasonable. Please give this place a try, your taste buds will thank you.

Cute cafe. Food was okay. Beef commercial gravy and potatoes were good. Not much beef on it. Same was true for Rueben, not much meet.

Went for Friday fish buffet. They don't have a steam table so the food is in crockpots. Soups were watery and flavorless. Potatoes were lumpy. Dressing was uneventful. Gravy salty. Salads poor. Shrimp and fish good hence the 2 stars BUT like I said food was in crocks, small ones So when the large man ahead of me went thru the line he took all the fish. Just no to Jordies

Jordie's deserves five stars for atmosphere alone. The food is pretty darned good, too! Found this place via Meetways.com as a stopping point between the Twin Cities and Bemidji. It's worth a detour even if you're not biking. In a historic building, Jordie's is kind of like a non-chain Cracker Barrel, with gift items for sale and kitschy décor. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. The owners have obviously put a lot of care and hard work into the building, the grounds and gardens, and the menu featuring fresh home-made food. I hope to return on a day when it's not too hot to enjoy outdoor dining.
