Jade Fountain

I ended up getting food poison from this place. I ordered chicken egg foo young and shrimp fried rice . The egg foo young had egg shells in it And the chicken and shrimp was very soft and mushy I've spent a week in and out of urgent care and the ER trying to get those food out of my system so save yourself and DO NOT EAT HERE. Also the food was very over priced.

We stopped by Jade Fountain for a late Saturday lunch. There was plenty of parking out front, but with several businesses and restaurants sharing this lot it can get pretty full during busier times of day. The menu was full of old school Chinese-American classics. We ordered hot tea, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, and chicken fried rice. Everything we had was good but a little heavy. Prices were reasonable and we would definitely try this spot again.

First and last time. Egg drop soup tasted weird. All the food tasted like it was made a few days ago and did not have good flavor. I later read that the ownership changed and food went downhill.

This evening we ordered takeout and the food was exceptionally good. Two standout dishes were chicken Szechuan and vegetable foo young. The Szechuan had a delightful freshness and the egg foo young was light and delicious. As for service, the time between placing the phone order and pick up was 15 minutes. I wouldn't normally give five stars for Chinese takeout but Jade Fountain definitely deserves this rating.

So good!! We were staying nearby and searching for places to eat. I saw pictures from here online and it looked amazing, no online ordering available as of now but we walked in and placed an order. It was done really quickly for a Saturday evening. The chicken chowmein and the veggie low main were SO good!! Thick and tasty sauce. Would definitely order from here again!

Horrible!! 2+ hour wait for pre-ordered takeout, finally left without food after being told "they are working on it." Won't ever return, along with the 30 plus others that were frustrated!! Many other locations with better customer service and food!

We've tried several other Chinese restaurants in the past few years from all over the metro area and Jade is still the best of the 'Americanized' ones. There's been no change in quality over the past 20 years I've been eating here. Rock solid consistency, very good flavors, high quality ingredients. I keep expecting them to go downhill like so many other places have but I've never been disappointed with their food.

I had to join Yelp to see if the ownership had changed at Jade Fountain recently. First, I am really, really disappointed to learn that it has changed. And, second, I know that I will never go back, let alone recommend it to anyone else. I've been going there for 35 - 40 years. I don't even live in Wayzata or the area. My home is 50 miles away, a one hour drive. I had proudly brought out-of-town family from California there. I took my husband there when we were dating . I took my newly discovered half-brother there. He has taken dates, co-workers, and family there. We met friends there. I got takeout there a number of times.Last night, on my way home from meeting with old neighborhood friends in Mpls/StP, I stopped to pick up my favorite dish from Jade Fountain, Cashew Shrimp. My husband wanted Lemon Chicken. I ordered a total of four egg rolls. It had been awhile, so I was really looking forward to it! The sauce was boring. The cashews were soggy halves and pieces. There was an overabundance of water chestnuts - a lot - like half the container! The shrimp was rubbery. I ended up throwing out the equivalent of a whole container that was made up of mostly water chestnuts, sauce, most of the soggy cashews, and some rice. In the past, I always had enough for two filling meals! The Lemon Chicken was "OK". The coating was doughy and didn't stay on the chicken. We only got one small container, not even half full of sauce, for four egg rolls. The egg rolls were not good at all: bland and 'thick'.The bill came to $69.79 total. $55.80 for the food and $13.99 for sales tax and the extra charge for me to use my credit card. The food was not worth the $55.80, let alone an additional $14 cost! I'm willing to pay for great food, but never again will it be at Jade Fountain. What a shame it is to lose such a gem of what was a truly great Chinese restaurant!

Ordered food on Door Dash since no one answered the phone at 5 PM -no busy signal-just rang about 20 times. Door dash receipt in hand but person at desk said they didn't have the order! After being sent to the back of the line, I tried again! She brought out several orders from the kitchen. I told her I wanted my money returned if she didn't have our order! Showed her the receipt from Door Dash again and she said you must get money back from Door Dash! I asked her to check in the kitchen again and she found our order and yelled at me saying I didn't tell her it was Door Dash order even though I had shown her the Door Dash receipt twice???? She was very combative saying she disn't get paid from Door Dash! Wow, that was fun! CustOmer Service at its best!!!

Not the same without James and crew- I have had buffet multiple times- only went back cause it was quick- cold- not fresh- jacked the price- cant do it again- 1 to go lemon chicken- jammed into a container so the crispy breading mostly all fell off - not friendly service at all- sad to see the "real" Jade gone- no comparison- I never write on any business but..... they dont get it at all!!!
