I root for this place to succeed because it's close to my house and, when everything is on point, it's really good. But so far in my experience things are routinely kind of rough. This is a small neighborhood barbeque joint with a few small tables inside, but is basically a takeout place. (As I write this, in February 2021, all eateries are still basically takeout places. For me at least.) I think they opened last fall, and their menu and operating hours seem to be in flux. One time they seemed to be closed on a day they were supposed to be open; recently I had trouble just getting them on the phone. This last time I waited for my order for 40 minutes, and they were out of lots of things. So I think they just don't have the staff to keep up at the moment. And that might be because their meat and sauces are super tasty and people have figured that out! I've gotten pulled pork and beef briscuit dishes from them, and they are consistently super tender and flavorful, plus the prices are pretty fair. It's why I'm going to keep coming here, hopeful that the experience will settle into something more reliable. If they had more people working, they could solve some of these problems.

Worst ribs I've ever had. Extremely small sides.Wasn't cooked with dry rub or sauce.Barely seasoned, cooked too quickly, so the meat was tough on the outside and undercooked on the bone. If this was an off night, they couldn't have failed harder.

They cook over wood. Funky spot welded box smoker, though the friendly folks there said they've got a new one coming in soon. Doesn't matter; they know what they're doing. Had a pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich, took about 10 minutes. Both properly made, hints of thin blue smoke (cooks should know what this means), lightly seasoned. Pork in chunks, not shredded, which is unusual but the shoulder was rendered so well it didn't make it tough or chewy. Brisket not as peppery as I like but I can't complain about the tenderness of the product and it matches great with the spicy sauce. Really nice collards with green liquor in the cup like it should be. Fries are okay, about what you expect of curly fries. But did I mention they cook over wood? I don't understand how many "barbecue" places I've been to with gas grills and crock pots with a little smoke tube if you're lucky, or worse. Best que joint I've been to in the area since Big Daddy's cooked in barrels. I'm going back for the ribs soon. Please note most of the time I get barbecue I don't go back, and if I'm mad enough I go out and get a brisket to cook and wipe my memory clean. Right now I'm not mad at all, and that's about the best endorsement of a barbecue place I can think of.

Pretty good, IMO. (BBQ ribs.) Here's my plus and minus points...Pluses:- very very tender- sauces were quite good- hint of smoke but not overpowering - St. Louis ribs, not baby backs (my preference)- I liked the sides (tried slaw and beans)Minuses:- the meat had apparently been cooked so long (which would account for the tenderness) that all the fat was gone, rendered out of it, so the part of a rib's flavor and texture that comes from the fat were not to be found. You may be a fat-hater, in which case you may find this a plus-point.- service could have been a bit fasterCheck 'em out yourself and see what you think.

Probably some of the best ribs I've had in the metro, pulled pork sandwich (Memphis style) was very good, brisket was good, but I usually don't order brisket, like every good BBQ place I've tried, sides were average, but I have to give it to the beans. This is going to be a go-to along with Roosters.

Ribs weren't all that Way over priced 24$ dollars post tax. All I got was 4 bones a third of a corn cob and greens. They might have good things, but I know for sure the ribs aren't it. If you want to come here and be dissatisfied, buy the ribs I can assure you that you will leave upset.

Every single bite was delicious. The order-taker seemed new, but the food was excellent. The rest of my table got ribs and pulled-meat, I got the cheese burger and I was feeling bad that mine was probably better than their choice 'cause it was so good, except they were doing their own "Mmmmm mmm mmm"s. :) The sides were tiny, but I grabbed quart-sized potato salad and baked beans to go because my little taste tests were a delicious tease. Soooooo good! Will be back. Also, there was live music and I dunno if she's their regular entertainment, but her voice was incredible....very smooth and easy to listen to.

Stopped by today for lunch. No waiting to put in an order. I ordered the 4 rib combo, with beans, curly fries and pop. $17.50. Order prepared quickly and brought to me at a table in an 8 in dinner box with small tub of beans. The ribs looked very decent. I tried the beans, These were pinto beans and flavored a bit with onion and I think Jalapenos. They were OK. I tried the Sweet n Sassy sauce individually. The sauce was very good. But did not use it on the ribs. If the beans were not so saucy, this sauce would be ideal to flavor them. I tried a rib. They cook spares here. These looked like spares based on size. Normally, spares I have had have been with 1 continuous bone. After a few bites, the rib seperated and had a small bone, with more meat on a second bone. Hard to describe really. Ribs were not as tender as I would like. I do not want them "falling off the bone" tender, but a tug to get all the meat, leaving a clean bone. This did not happen with any of the 4 ribs I had. Curly fries were good.. Crispy and seasoned properly. The $17.50 price tag was very fair for a small bbq meal. I just would like the ribs to be more tender and the bone all 1 piece.I should add, this place is next to an ice cream shop. They do have a door on the inside to go from one place to the other place, but it was locked. I think it is pretty cool to have an ice cream shop next door. If you eat in and still have room for dessert, next door you can get a small cone. Hunters also have their own desserts which change daily.
