Huettl's Locker & Dressing Plant

Amy did an amazing job catering my Mom's 85th birthday dinner in Lake City this summer and it could not have been easier! It was delicious, there were lots of options and it was delivered on time and on budget. For everyday meals, we are fans of their meats--especially the beef medallions and the stuffed chicken breasts. The medallions are excellent on the grill and a unique cut compared to what we have seen in shops in the Cities. If you are in the area--would highly recommend a stop in to pick up lunch or dinner. They also sell homemade rolls/bread, and a selection of eggs, cheeses, sausages, frozen foods, etc. so it's super convenient. Enjoy!

While Huettl's has terrific food, their delivery was awful! We had a platter delivered to our 97 year old mother. They did not call her in advance (as promised), rang the doorbell repeatedly until she managed to get to the door, and then hung half the order on her walker before they left. After that, my flustered Mom fell as she tried to maneuver the top heavy walker. Luckily, mom was on the phone with someone and help was on the way. Fortunately, no broken bones but there were a few bruises.VERY upset with this establishment.

The cheese curd brats are so tasty. Bought a package at the Winona, MN farmers market. Kept them cold for the 6 hour ride home. Cooked them up the next night. Yummm.

Huettl's bratwurst is the very best I've gotten, anywhere -- and I love bratwurst and have probably bought it at forty or fifty different highly-rated places. They make the bratwurst themselves and make fresh, smoked and several kinds of flavored fresh. Their garlic summer sausage is also excellent. They sell it in vacuum-sealed packages of 5-7 links. Highly recommended.

Wonderful homemade brats, breakfest links (wild rice and blueberry, yum) great selection of steaks and chops. One of Souther Minnesota's best meat shops. The Huettl family is one of the great local community supporters. Stop in, you'll like what you get.
