Hook Fish & Chicken

One must admit that fried foods is the nectar of the gods.Deep fry anything and it will be eaten.I was on one of my fried food kicks and decided to try Hook Fish & Chicken.I came in for dinner and the place looked deserted.Almost everything on the menu is deep fried except the Gyros and a few other items.I opted for the Catfish and wing combo.This combo came with two pieces of fish and four wings,fries,Cole slaw and two slices of white bread.I also got some hot sauce for my wings.The flavor was ok...just ok.I mean everything on my plate was fried which got it three stars.The lemon pepper seasoning they add at the end bumped the food up to four stars.I guess they sprinkle this stuff over everything....like its pixie dust!It was a lot of food.They have ample parking and seating.The dining room was totally empty as I was the only patron sitting down to eat.A lot of other patrons did take out.I will return to try their Gyro burger which while eating I heard numerous people order which peaked my interest!

It smells bad & the service is deplorable. You can have less than average food and poor customer service. You can go anywhere for average food these days but there are only a few places with average food and ¡BAD! service. It's 1:45 on a Sunday. There's no excuse for you to be sitting on your tail on your phone when my order was placed well in advance and should have been done when I arrived. Don't give me grief because I expect better from small business

I've eaten here pretty often with no problems. But this time I did a pickup order. Fish and chicken strip combo, with an extra coleslaw. Lesson, check your food always. When I got home I noticed there was no bread slice and one coleslaw missing. Now the food was fried really well and juicy. Not dried out. So I did have bread, and I got credit on the coleslaw from Grubhub.

When you feel like being in fried heaven and clogging your arteries, this is where you want to stop. Everything on the menu is fried and made to order and that is what makes it so good! Located in Uptown, this place caught my attention with their $6.99 combo specials sign hanging from Lake Street. However, I tend to always make my own combo. The sambusa/samosa are pretty decent and I really like their fried fish. My major complaint with the samosas are the dusting of something they sprinkle on it. I have yet to figure out what it is but it really takes away from the meal; it's also on their fries. The menu is extensive considering they specialize in fish and chicken. This is where one can order anything from gyros to fried chicken to philly steak. Hooks Fish and Chicken has seating for approximately 30 people but I have never seen anyone dining in. This is more catered to a carry out spot. They have their own parking lot which makes visiting them fairly convenient.

I've been coming here since they opened this location, and before the one in North Minneapolis. Great Chicago style good if you're into that. I normally get a Gyro Burger combo, but decided to try the Italian Beef here and wasn't let down. The cooks / cashier dude is pretty cool also. Wouldn't recommend this spot for a sit down. Just a grab and dash kinda thing!

Best chicken in Minneapolis!!! Dude. I mean amazing! Hushpuppies are huge and hot. Fried okra isnt soggy. I cant complain at all. Lemon pepper seasoning rocks. Thank you guys! They are busy busy so be patient. Dont really get any kindness but whatever.

This place is a good, basically cheap fast food fish joint. Also they actually are halal and have a prayer room so I'm very impressed.

The chicken wings are really good! I definitely will recommend the Caesar salad. It's non traditional, with bell peppers, white onion, tomato, romaine and croutons but they give you definitely enough Caesar dressing for it. Got the jumbo shrimp which was literally jumbo! They gave us so much hot sauce. Definitely more than we needed, but hey I can keep it in the fridge for a long time so it's a win. This time I tried the chicken sandwich. The chicken was grilled to perfection, with a toasted bun, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Definitely hit the spot! Also got a Chicago dog. They grill the dogs and pile them with the traditional toppings. You can't go wrong with this place! I'm never disappointed.

Worst customer service experience ever don't want to take order walking back and forth 20 min to close the one dude that usually take the orders need to come back this girl is terrible

I ordered a Gyro and a side of fries. I requested no pita bread and asked for extra lettuce instead. When my order arrived, not only was the gyro in a pita, but it included an extra pita. To top it all off, the cucumber sauce was CURDLED and the fries were literally dripping wet.
