Hook fish and chicken has been around for years. It's a great place to grab a meal on the go. The service and food is consistent and saves you time in cooking a home made meal. Only once we I had a problem with the food not being cooked. It was different staff. I went back the next day( they were closed when I got to the hotel and noticed the food was not cooked throughly ) the staff gave.minor push back but confirmed we had called the night before to share our experience. After going g there for years this was the first time I had a issue. I was disappointed b e cause I knew I was missing a mouth watering meal.

Whenever we are in the area, we always stop in for fried okra, chicken wings and fries. The food is very tasty! There are tables to dine-in, but I wouldn't want to eat there. There's more of an order and go vibe. There are handy benches to wait for the deliciousness to be ready!

I have been going to hooks once a week faithfully for years and was surprised to see a whole different staff working. I paid no attention to that just waiting for the best chicken with extra lemon powder I have ever had to be done.I noticed the lights had water pooling in them as it was raining outside and there were small food buckets scattered on the floor. I sat on the purple bench and within seconds was dropped on consistently for the few moments I sat there. I moved to the booths and the same thing, the only dry place was inside of the door. Once I got my food and we left making it home we had the worst meal ever. The chicken was over fried, the fries were not good and there was barely any lemon seasons even though we had asked for extra seasoning before we left. We have vowed too not go back unless the previous owners and staff return.

My arteries started clogging while I waited in line. Don't let appearances, or location fool you. If you can stomach ultra greasy chicken and fried fish...this is your kind of place! Warning: the "Let Me See You Move Something" man from Blue Cross will pay you a visit shortly after devouring one of their meals. I've tried the Fried Chicken, the Perch, and the Fries. All were very tasty, and I had a very long nap after my meal. The price was reasonable too, and for about 25 bucks, 4 people were fed, and filled successfully. If you aren't one to buy into how the "North" is so "dangerous"....take a stroll off the beaten path to Hook Fish and Chicken...make sure to bring wet naps, Tums, and an empty belly to fill.

I've only had the fried chicken from here but why would I have anything else from here? Very curious to try their fried fish offerings, as well as their sandwiches. But if I did that, I'd rob myself of the fried chicken I love so much. You can also buy 300 chicken wings for $184 if you're abnormally hungry.I've only been to the North MPLS location. Service was good. Dude hooked us up with free extra hot sauce ($0.50 value). Parking lot had sufficient space for my car. Place definitely feels greasy and grimey, but it's a fried chicken joint in North and I'm wearing cut-off jean shorts so who am I to judge.

For starters let's describe the setting. There were 8 police cruisers parked across the street making and arrest. There was an individual standing directly outside the entrance peddling dvds. On the other side there were two individuals catcalling all the female patrons as they approached. Inside, their were two individuals that I can only speculate on what the items they were exchanging were. Now let's talk food. I ordered the large catfish dinner. It came with 4 fillets, fries, coleslaw, and bread. Cost was $11. The fish was unevenly cooked as some of the breeding in the creases of the fillet was mushy. Meanwhile, some of the other pieces were crisp and others were soggy. Hey sprinkle some type of seasons over the fish after it's been cooked. I'm definitely not a fan of whatever it was. I do think that this place has the potential to be better. I just went when they were a little off their game hopefully. Two star rating was a result of the food and the setting. It's an environment that you need to be prepared to enter. If you're sheepish stay away. If you like the nice areas of town. Stay away. If you're fine with wherever the beaten path takes you, give it a shot. Like a said I think on any given day you could get great food from this place.

Broooo, that shit SLAPPDT! Them chicken tenders went nuts. I got more than I expected with the chicken tenders. Those 6 tenders I got could have fed my whole family! The place was colder than a yeti's nut tho. Other than that my dining experience was satisfactory.
