Homshuk Mexican Kitchen & Bar

This was our first time at Homshuk, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The clean, modern design creates a welcoming vibe, and we can see it being a great spot for patio season when the weather/season is right.Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering helpful recommendations that made our meal even better.Both of our dishes were delicious, and we're already looking forward to coming back in the summer.

Great food and very authentic! You won't be disappointed. It's in a location that seems inconsistent with authentic Mexican food.

This place is one of my husbands go to places for a local dinner. They are always friendly and service is prompt and nice. The restaurant is always clean and the food is always fresh. My husband normally gets the chicken fajitas and he likes that they are not overly greasy. I like the carne asada nachos.Also, they have great happy hour with good options and low prices.

This restaurant is connected to the bodega grocery store. There's an entrance from the bakery isle, a sliding door to the bathroom and another door to the restaurant. Nice and spacious. Huge bar for seating as well. We sat by the entrance and ordered so much food. So we asked to switch to the booth table instead. I ordered 3 different tacos, pastor, Mexican chicken, and chicken ranchero. My favorite was the Mexican chicken. They currently have a deal for $5 mango margarita but I ordered a regular one instead.

Disappointing that you can ONLY order chicken enchiladas- nothing else not pork not shredded beef. And btw Calling for takeout is a nightmare- they can BARELY hear you or you them and YOU'RE in the quiet area of your home. Here's hoping our takeout comes right EVEN THOUGH IWOULD rather have a choice of meats for my enchiladas!!!Not the best enchiladas I ever had, unless they OFFER other meats- I wouldn't bother ‍

Our first visit here was a good one. On a cold, snowy night we decided we needed someone else to make us dinner and clean up dishes. The vibe here is open, airy, and full of energy. While our night wasn't a time to eat outside, I look forward to visiting again when we can enjoy dinner on the covered patio. I started with a house margarita which was huge and delicious. The server (who was great, btw) mentioned the staff favorite of Tampiquena so I had to try this steak option. The steak is cooked to your desired doneness and I chose medium. It was tender to cut and tasty. While you get tortillas with the meal, I chose to eat the steak, beans, and rice without the extra starch and it was very good. Don't forget to ask for chips and salsa. They are complimentary but only served upon request. Nice stop. Can't wait to come back and try some more menu items.

Heard some good things about Homshuk. Very clean and friendly staff. Hannah my server was very friendly and recommended some good starters. I asked roughly how big their pork belly tacos were and she said little bit bigger than a street taco. I asked if she ever had the chimichanga and she said it was great. It came with your choice of meat so I chose carne asada. It came out really hot and smelled great. Definitely coming back for it again. Hannah said the happy hour is great with some good deals.

We got takeout from here a couple months ago and it was good - I didn't think it was the best Mexican food I have ever had but also not the worst either. It tasted more on the bland side. The portion sizes were huge but I also feel like it was pricey compared with other Mexican restaurants in the area. I got the wet burrito which seemed to be highly recommended here. I asked for black beans in my order but they didn't add black beans. The burrito was a big soggier than I was expecting. I didn't end up liking the texture much. But it tasted fine overall.The queso was bland and it didn't taste like queso I've had at other comparable Mexican restaurants. I felt like I was eating melted Kraft cheese slices. Takeout was fast and they had our order ready at the time stated, so that is a plus!I can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant since we did not eat inside. Overall not sure if I will come here again but it's definitely worth a try especially if you're a fan of Mexican food and you're in the area.

Yum!! Came here for dinner and was an absolute amazing experience! We enjoyed the food - truly authentic Mexican food. I got fajitas, mixture of chicken and steak, and flavors were so good!! It was a lot of food, large portions, and I felt completely satisfied after I finished my dinner. First time experiencing this new authentic Mexican restaurant in Apple Valley and will definitely be back again!

Food is delicious and the service is great! The Birria Tacos are amazing! They have a patio that is wonderful in the non-winter months.
