Hole in the Wall Books and Records

This shop isn't huge, but I have to say it is the best curated selection I have seen in a long time! Most used record stores these days just have piles of chum to slog through, but this store is a gleaming shining example for every other record store to follow. Todd is very picky about the collections he buys, so there really isn't a clunker in the whole bunch. I really appreciated that, because my time is valuable and who wants to look through a bunch of crap just to get to the good stuff? Well here it's all good stuff! Todd is also very knowledgeable about many genres of music, and he takes the time to source high quality records and look up what each one is worth and price everything accordingly. I loved the "Buy two get one free" sale, of course I am a bargain hunter so I left with nine records plus a bonus record. Super happy with my purchases, I examined each record before I bought it, but it turned out it was not necessary. Todd examines them and does not sell anything that isn't stellar quality. I highly recommend this store, both for buying and selling, as I was told he gives a very fair price when buying Collections, if they are sought after and of high quality. The shop also sells books and I think DVDs and some other things, but I only had time to look through the main section of records. There was also a section of new records, but I didn't look through that section. Todd was great to talk to as well, and pointed me to an AWESOME authentic place to eat just down the block, Main Street Tacos! I am telling all my record friends about this store, and intend to come back to Hayward just to patronize this place again. Rock on, record dude!

I don't recommend doing any business with this guy. My husband is still waiting to be paid for work that he has done for Todd from over a year ago. he keeps putting us off with excuses one right after the other. I just called him again today and once again he put me off with another excuse and told me to call him on Monday. small claims court may be our only option.
