easily one of my favorite breakfast places in the world (no exaggeration) and a top 3 if not top in Minnesota. everything on the menu reasonably priced. great bang for the buck. if dining solo, don't hesitate to sit at the counter. the feel and decor of the place is old school. a lot of vintage trinkets and kitchen items along with funny, if not provocative, quotes and sayings.i think they used to be cash only, but they accept credit card, apple pay, etc. i will keep coming back, hopefully to the point where they know my name and order!

I go to hoagies often for breakfast before work, I get the same thing every time and it doesn't disappoint! 2 Eggs over medium with toast, sausage and hash browns! The coffee is bottomless and hot! The atmosphere and service is hit or miss at times depending on how busy the restaurant is, but the food is consistently made well and comes out quickly! Street parking in downtown Hopkins can be tricky depending on time of day and the time of year, but there are a number of areas to park nearby if you don't mind walking a little bit!

This is a typical family styled, diner set-up; nothing overly fancy, so I will judge it as such. With that being said, I give this place props for being very spacious with ample seating because not many diners offer that. It's also one of the more cleaner diner establishment I have experienced, so that's also a plus. This place has pretty good service and is relatively fast for ordering and receiving food. This place also wins on price. I got all this food (big portions) for $13!!!However, I give this place 3 stars because the food was just ok. Yes it's nothing fancy, but I had better breakfast at other diners in the twin cities. There's nothing that would bring me back here, so it's just ok in total.

Great overall breakfast stop in Downtown Minnetonka. The food was left me very satisfied. I ordered French toast, eggs, bacon & sausage. The French toast stole the show because they were tasty & fluffy. There was one server there and she did a great job with the recommendation. The inside reminds me of a diner type place with tons of nostalgic paraphernalia plastered on the walls.

My wife and I found this little one place while out on a kid-free weekend. It is your quintessential dinner with an 80's flair. Complete with a tube TV playing Matlock over the front counter. The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were larger than expected. The pancakes were fluffy with a slight crisp. The eggs were great and they added cheddar on request. The cinnamon roll was sweet and gooey.I would definitely go back for a low key morning, or even to try lunch.

Pros: prices are cheap, cool old dinner feel, cheeseburgers were really good.Cons: our server kept forgetting stuff ( they were pretty busy so I give her that) . They charge extra if you pay with credit card. The breakfast items that we had were pretty gross. Beef gravy over toast was cold bland no salt , potatoes also no spice at all not even salt. Special was chilli over potatoes and eggs it was so-so . We asked if it's just beef in it but I'mpretty sure there was bacon pieces also. It was not good. Pancakes were cold and basic nothing great. Recommendation: go there for burgers and bring cash .

I have been coming here since I was a baby. The food is exactly the same now as it has been since I can remember it. The booths, vintage Knick-knacks; and pictures on the walls are about the same too. They have the best hashbrowns in the Twin Cities, hands down. Their grilled cheese is always done just right. There is never an issue with the food. The service is quite inconsistant. Some staff are warm and friendly, and give that Hopkins "small town" feel. Some aren't unfriendly, exactly, but aren't exactly smiling either. Service can also be slow, even on days that it isn't busy. I feel like the quality of the service was more consistent ten years ago. By and large, the experience and food are great.

I've been going to Hoagies since before I can even remember, so bear in mind that this review comes from a very biased and very nostalgic individual! In my mind, Hoagies is the diner that all others have to live up to. It's wildly affordable (my chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and MASSIVE pitcher of coffee came in at $10), the service is quick, and the locals are abundant and happy. Inflation? It doesn't exist at Hoagies. Pro-tip: Pay at the counter. Parking: I usually park on Main Street, but I believe there is parking around back as well.
