Historic Rock Tavern

Food and service is great along with a fantastic view from dining room or deck! The walleye is excellent and best wine list selections around the area.

Rock Tavern is a perfect place to eat on a summer evening. We enjoyed a refreshing breeze off the lake, and could you ask for a lovelier setting? They serve cold drinks, burgers, baskets, and sandwiches. I enjoyed fried shrimp, and the cowboy burger looked tasty. The service was not super fast, but our server was kind, and we received everything we asked for. I would drive out of my way to savor a summer night here again.

So disappointed. This place is normally pretty good but tonight was a huge let down. I brought my dad here for a early Father's day meal and was hoping to treat him to a "nice" steak dinner. Unfortunately by the time the server brought our food over it was all very cold and not very good. I'm sure it would have been excellent if it had been brought to us 15-30 minutes earlier. My mom and son actually had to ask to have theirs reheated...aka microwaved in the kitchen till my kids corn dogs exploded. My dad's rare steak was just shy of well done. Drinks sat empty for the last half hour of our meal. Yet we ended up paying full price, not even a slight discount was offered. Not sure if I will return or recommend this place anymore.

Amazing little place on Birch Lake near Grey Eagle, MN. My wife ordered the steak. I had the Cajun Walleye. Service was quick and pleasant, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

It wouldn't be a day on Big Birch Lake without a stop at the Rock Tavern for Ribs and a cocktail. Great staff, great views, and dock space for at least 8 boats. Plus you can invest in some pull tabs while listening to TouchTunes. Karaoke Friday nights!

Love the Rock Tavern, whether it's summer, winter or anytime of the year. Their Friday and Saturday prime rib is terrific, and you can't go wrong ordering the ribs, shrimp, walleye or a burger. Very good service (Andrew is my favorite), and what a great setting on Big Birch Lake!

The food was good . We had a Beautiful view of Big Birch lake. We will definitely go back!

Breakfast was very good. The Breakfast Skillet was great but Toast with it would have been good. My Raspberry French toast was tasty. The plates need a little more appealing such as a slice of Orange or some enhancement. We recommend it. Coffee served in a nice glass cup with plenty refills

We came to the Rock Tavern for a special evening. The place was so cold and super noisy. We asked for the fireplace to be turned on but was told it couldn't be. The food was okay. I ordered the walleye but there was no tarter or cocktail sauce. No bread was served. The lettuce in my salad was not fresh but the dressing good. Sooo disappointed.

Had dinner in the upstairs dinning room over the 4th of July. The food was delicious and the service was great! We were not only celebrating the holiday but had 2 birthdays in our dinner party. They each received a free dessert that we all shared and they were also yummy! The location of this restaurant on big birch lake is a plus! The lake makes for a great view and atmosphere. There is a dock so you can visit the restaurant via your boat as well! So glad this restaurant is open again. I will definitely be going back!
