In town to visit relatives and the wife and ai always make it a point stop here. The wines are excellent the food is good not great. I do like that a winery has their own kitchen and not some overpriced food truck. Really only losing one star due to slow service, especially how long it took all of food to come out. Group of 6 but it still about 40 minutes for some apps, two pizzas and wrap to come out. The staff is very friendly and it's a nice spot to relax among a town and area where just isn't much to do. The bar area is quite small although there are a lot of tables.

We just had about twenty minutes to waste in Clara city, so looked up the vineyard. We stopped in, and had a great time! The place is new, quaint, peaceful, has great wine, and easy going staff. We highly recommend dropping in for a glass of red or white.

We Love going to Hinterland! Great place for a date or hang out with friends. They have the best wine, variety of beer and drinks...good thing since my husband will only drink beer. And delicious food. I would recommend the fried pickles and bison burger!

Went to Hinterland Vineyards to have lunch with a friend after a day of craft show shopping. We opted for the six-wine tasting for only $5, and ordered nachos and a flatbread pizza. It was pretty busy, but our server was very good about bringing each new wine for us to taste. After around 30 minutes, we thought it was strange that our food had not arrived. We decided that the policy must be to have customers complete the tasting before bringing the food. After an hour, we asked how much longer the wait for our food would be - and yes, we should have asked earlier. The servers were horrified that it had been that long, explaining that there must have been a computer glitch (they have a POS system). They were very apologetic, and gave us each a free drink, salsa and chips, and cheese and crackers while we waited about another 15 minutes for our food. When it arrived, it was tasty and hot. We ended up taking half home, since we had eaten the chips, cheese, and crackers before it came. I will definitely give Hinterland Vineyards another try, but I'll make sure there is no computer glitch next time.
