We were at Ginny Bites around the corner and decided to stop in for lunch. We arrived just after 11am and it was slow, by 11:30am it really fills up. We had the VooDoo which is like a Muffaletta and excellent. My husband raved about the Ostara. Both were served panini style and hot.VooDoo (Genoa salami, smoked ham, pepperoni, fresh olive mix, smoked mozzarella and swiss served on rosemary schiacciata)Ostara (Smoked turkey, hickory smoked bacon, fontina, avocado and house-made creamy basil served on rosemary schiacciata)Service is friendly. Order at the counter and then have a seat.

Walked into this Deli without knowing what to expect. To be honest I didn't even know this place had opened up. Definitely a great addition to downtown Anoka. It's a cute little place with friendly staff. We ordered three different sandwiches and the wolf dog of the week. The wolf dog was devoured in no time. It was by far my favorite out of all the sandwiches we got. I only remember two of the sandwiches we got. We got the Woden which had Smoked Mozzarella, Fontina, Swiss, Sun dried tomato and Basil pesto on Sourdough. You can add meat if you like. Second sandwich was the Ravn with Pastrami, Provolone, red onion, pepperoncini, oil, balsamic, Dijon mustard and herbed Mayo on rosemary schiacciata. They also have pasta salads available. I am such a sucker for pasta salads. We got three different kinds of pasta salads. The pickleback pasta salad, deviled egg pasta salad and Elote pasta salad. All three were delicious but the pickleback was my absolute favorite with crunchy pieces of pickles, dill, Smoked gouda and lots of love put into it. All in all everything was good and we will certainly be back.

Do me a favor when you all are out and about Antiquing and living your best treasure hunting life in Anoka swing in and have lunch at Herban Wolf Deli, its just around the corner off 1st. Vibe is definitely something you would see in So Lake Tahoe or Colorado which if you can tell by my reviews i tend to gravitate towards anything that makes me feel like i am living there...with a perfect lunch menu with something for everyone and I am all pesto about it..Glad this place is a hop skip and jump over the bridge from us!! With friendly staff welcoming you as soon as you walk in! I got the Woden with bacon added which is my pesto dreams of pesto, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes on sourdough bread. I make something similar at home but let's be real my Costco pesto doesn't even compare to what they are making fresh.Nate the great got Bruni which has ALL the thing smooshed on schiacciata. Like what a combo of all the meats with this bomb a$$ sauces of honey mustard and maple chipotle... Then because you know ive gotta taste test everything and Nate feeds into me with that need and i got the famous Pickleback pasta salad which can i please also have this made as a potato salad too cause id kill that! Then they rolled out a summer salad of orzo asparagus lemon parmesan and all the flavors that makes you feel SUMMER! This will be my new lunch spot as Anoka tends to be my place to visit!

First time trying the Herban Wolf Deli and we're definitely going to go back again. Located in an old building in Anoka with some other neat business, they are using the space in an interesting and welcoming way. You'll walk up a ramp to the order counter and a dine in area. Seating area faces the street with good sized windows. We arrived shortly after they opened and there were people waiting for to go orders and people dining in, including some Sheriffs, so you know the food is good. We were greeted right away by the counter staff and I shared that it was our first time and they gave us a great in service about the menu and specials. They have a daily special called the Wolf Dog ($9) and we ordered the last one available. Each day is a different Wolf Dog option, so be sure to look at the small board by the kitchen window or ask. Today's WOLF DOG OF THE WEEK: the Reykja- ¼ lb all beef dog, topped with hickory smoked pork, BBQ sauce, pickle chips, house-made coleslaw, crispy fried onions and smoked paprika We wolfed that down and were hard pressed to share any with our dog. We ordered the Ravn ($13) sandwich too and that was good. Cherrywood smoked pastrami, provolone, red onion, golden pepperoncini, oil, balsamic, Dijon mustard and herbed mayo on rosemary schiacciata. The bread was a bit crispy for recent dental work, but the flavor was wonderful and aromatic. Don't forget to turn around and see all the delicious salads and other tasty take home foods. Lots of Minnesota businesses represented. Here's a sampling: Soup of the Day - $6/cupPickleback Pasta Salad (pickles, dill, smoked gouda, magic) - $6 (8oz) $11 (16oz if available)Bacon Blue Cheese Potato Salad - $6 (8 oz) $11 (16oz if available)Hal's Chips - $3T-Rex Cookies - $6Give this place a try, you won't regret it!

Running errands in Anoka leave a person hungry. I saw their social media post of their weekly hot dog special and making a deciding on where to go was pretty easy. Today was busier than last time, so I think their secret is getting out. The dining room has adequate seating. But every table had a dining party sitting at it at some point during our time there. That's a good thing!

High quality sandwiches, very friendly, owner/operated. If you value talking directly with the cooks and owners of the eatery, then check these guys out! Very fair prices for food made with love. Very cool decor, theme, simple menu. My wife and I each got a sandwich and we split a tiny pasta salad, and had to take half sandwich home. Super grubbin' sandwich with tons of flavor! This is not your $10 foot long, flavorless, chain, no love, cheap option. Great place for a day date, kid friendly, family friendly, but also hip and cool spot to have a cold beer or a NA pop, and crush a huge sandwich! Well done! We will be regulars!

Stopped in at end of their day, picked up a Pyre and a Bruni for the Mrs and I. Also grabbed the pickled pasta salad and blue cheese potato salad. The staff was very attentive and yet gave time to determine what to order, got as take out and headed home to munch.Sandwiches/Panini's were great, nice crisp/tender combo, healthy portion of meat and fillings. Not overpowering on the seasoning or sauce/spread.Salads were very good as well, the fresh seasoning/herbs certainly explain the "herb" in Herban Deli. The potato salad was a nice compliment to the other Pickled pasta salad, Two entrees and a large salad small salad came out to $46, added a 20% tip so it wasn't clear, but the quantity was enough for 2 meals, we could have split 1 sandwich/entree and had the salads and been set for another meal. Probably order 1 and split next time. Great food, fresh and complimentary flavors will ensure a return visit!Well worth the stop, and great parking in the area, plenty of seating inside if you want to dine and then walk the shops in downtown Anoka

Definitely one of the best food trucks in the Twin Cities - 5 stars! This truck serves excellent flat pressed style sandwiches. Despite the Nordic Viking type sandwich names, they have a distinct Mediterranean or Italian vibe...provolone cheese, pastrami, salami, peppers, olives, tomatoes, various flat breads...you get the idea. And they are off-the-hook great! The portions are generous too.I really love the unique sides, beverages, and desserts. On the day I visited, I grabbed a Northern Soda Company "root beer" flavor "craft soda" (made in Arden Hills, MN). As a side I ordered a small bag of Dirty Potato Chips "Funky Fusion" flavor "deli style" (made in Hanover, PA). For dessert I got a giant T-Rex Cookie (made in Eagan, MN) and a small bar made by Maverick's Wood Grill Restaurant (made in Champlin, MN).Herban Wolf Deli used to occupy a small bricks n' mortar spot in downtown Anoka, in the basement of the old Post Office building on Main Street. These days, they're strictly a food truck operation. And what an impressive operation it is! These folks are great. Finally, the workers and the owner are really nice and down-to-earth. I really enjoyed chatting with them. I also appreciated that they delivered my food to me inside the brewery. This is the only food truck I've been to (so far) that delivers directly to your table inside a venue.I visited them at the beginning of the pandemic in the old basement location - curbside pickup. Now it's only the truck. I'm bumping them up from 4 stars to 5 stars. They definitely deserve it.Thumbs up!-Maxx
