I highly recommend the Hayward Fly Fishing Company for an exciting fly fishing adventure! Great shop fitted out with gear, flies and clothing. Very experienced guides knowledgeable about fly fishing for muskies and small mouth bass in the local rivers. Clean, well-equipped boats designed for float trips and fly fishing. You'll fish classic waters like the Namekagon and Chippewa where you can see eagles, deer, turkeys and maybe even a wolf. An exceptional value for a trip of a lifetime!

Just returned from three awesome days fly fishing muskie on the Chippewa and Flambeau rivers with Larry from Hayward Fly Fishing. Great service, beautiful rivers, and Larry knows his stuff. They have a good selection of flies and fly fishing gear at the shop.

Very nice and helpful surface. Despite how busy he was, it doesnt own up to the "too cool for school, snubby attitude" that MOST shops are plagued with. Great selection and fair$

Exceptional customer service and remarkably knowledgeable guides! The owners were very accommodating in getting me squared away on my trip, and I really enjoyed my time on the water with Stu. Spent the whole day out on the water, and I loved every minute of it. Fair prices from great people, and I will definitely be back again next summer to catch some fish!

The selection is fine, but the customer service was so bad that I cannot bring myself to recommend this place. I spoke with the owner for a short time - but plenty long enough to learn that he must personally own all the area rivers because his disdain for anyone else who even considers throwing a line out on them without paying him for a guide trip was more than evident. I caught on very quickly that unless I was going to pay him for a trip, I wasn't going to have a pleasant conversation with him. I hope I caught him on a bad day for everyone else's sake, but I certainly won't be back.

This is a great fly shop. Larry and Wendy are terrific people and wonderful to fish with. The guides are very effective and knowledgeable. They are generous with beginners and can also teach you a master class on river fishing for smallmouth bass. My son and I had a very memorable experience with them, and we will be back.

I recently surprised my husband with a day of fly fishing for his birthday. I had called and asked the guide about fly fishing for Muskie. He assured me that Muskie were all they fished for and had caught 5 the day before. I told him that my husband just had gotten home from Wyoming but had never fly fished for Muskie. He was going to be so excited. He was taken out to the Namekagon River and only allowed to fish for small mouth bass! When he inquired, he was told that October was the best time to fish for Muskie. Not a new experience for him and certainly not worth the hundreds of dollars. Seems like false advertising especially when I specifically told him the interest in Muskie fly fishing!
