was greeted before the front-door with kindness; Karen and Krystal and Lisa appitomized the same at the bar and friendly Chris and instigator Ranger Joe made their rounds, what a pleasant Northwoods treat not to mention tantalizing drinks and scrumptious cheese-curd/mac-n-cheese-burger and South-of-the-Border Sandra hand-delivered authentic smothered empanadas .... the proprietor was aside himself freely-honoring other veterans in camaraderie and hospitality; it definitely earned frequent repeat business señor/friend/brother.

The food was good, even if the menu was fairly limited. There's lots of fish on the menu, which makes sense but I don't like fish, so I'm glad there were some burgers and stuff available as well. We ordered the bacon and beer curds and they were great. My order was the Butch Burger, and it was delicious. I am always on the fence about a burger with peanut butter, but my curiosity about the apple maple bacon jam outweighed my apprehension about the peanut butter. It was a good call and I was really pleased with it. On this particular burger, there wasn't a ton of peanut butter so that wasn't overpowering. The bacon jam was yummy and a great compliment to the burger. And I asked for it well done, and it was perfectly well done, which is pretty often not the case and I appreciated that they cooked it right the first time. (I also asked for the bacon well done so it wasn't too fatty and that was cooked pretty well too.) The onion rings were amongst the best I've ever had.The view really is beautiful if one sits outside; we opted for inside on this day. Service was ok; though the server was friendly she wasn't the most attentive and it may have been nice to get a little help with the high chair instead of the server just pointing me to it to get it whilst I was holding a baby. Not a ton of parking but there may be some down the road a bit if the lot fills up.

Harbor view restaurant is under new ownership and the owner, Joe, is an aviation enthusiast as well as a retired military person. Food and service were very good. I had a delicious build-your-own burger that was cooked perfectly to my request. Fries were that wonderful blend of crispy on the outside and soft inside. Tasty as well.Food is good and, for private pilots, it's about a 2 min walk from the ramp at the airport. It's too bad they don't have a pedestrian crosswalk from the airport. Perhaps the town of Phillips or Price County could add some signage to make the crossing safer.

Avoid at all costs. Previous owner sold to a db from Cali. Too bad I have to leave a star because it doesn't deserve even 1..I think it's a used car lot now anyway. The new management has pissed off most of the town so don't expect it to be open much longer.

I will say our visit this time was better than my last review 8 years ago. We sat inside and they seemed to be fully staffed. Our waitress was really good and we had 5 kids and 4 adults. The kids had a standard chicken tenders, cheese curds and fries meal. The curds and fries were really good. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich which he said was pretty good and I had the Jamaican chicken sandwich. It was good, a little mushy from all the sauce but the flavors were good.

I eat here several times during the summer. Food is always good. Today we flew down for lunch to find they were closed because of staffing shortages. Without thinking twice Bonny gave us a ride to a competitive business for lunch and then returned us to the airport. That's what I call service. Dean G. Mercer, WI

We wanted to give Harbor View another chance after having a truly bad experience a few weeks ago. Sadly, today's experience was no better. The bar area was pretty busy but the dining area was dead. We should have known when we had problems with our drink order that it wasn't going to be any better than last time. After we received our drink order we waited for someone to take our food order, after 15 minutes of waiting and watching two other groups of people leave we decided to leave. The owner/manager came over as we were leaving. We let him know why we were leaving at that we left $ on the table for the drinks. No apology from him on the situation at all. It looks like they're short staffed and it seems like they're very disorganized. Maybe focus on the bar side of things until everything else gets figured out? The place has a lot of good potential. The view is amazing and the locals are craving for a consistently good place.

The food is decent however,we waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. We asked for a manager and waited 20 minutes for her. The girl we asked to see the manager from, asked why? We explained we have been waiting a long time fir our food which at that time, she git rude and stomped away saying "I'm a little kid and can't deal with you". After 20 minutes,the manager came over and was immediately rude and snippy and said she will talk to someone and come back,which never happened. When I went to find her for the check, she was behind the bar flirting with patrons,another waitress standing at the bar texting on her phone,and another standing counting her tips. The old owners retired and sadly,this place is starting off on the wrong foot. Terrible service and rude people.

Harbor View has the best location in the area. The patio is wonderful during mild weather. Our server was inexperienced but Was very pleasant. Food was below the bar set over the years. Chicken was not the same that we were accustomed to, fish breading was soggy and hashed browns were the inedible. Hoping it was just an off night. Hate to take HV off our list.
