Great Harvest Bread

I saw Great Harvest Bread passing by after a swim at the Rec Center and I was like - kewl beans! I was in town visiting family for the week, and where I am from we had 2 Great Harvest Breads there and both have unfortunately shut down. That's a real bummer because I have been a GHB fan dating back to the 90s coming from Michigan. Our lone store in Austin, TX had closed down w/in the past year or so, and that was disappointing. So I just had to hop in here for a visit. So many good breads and pastries here! I had to be careful since I am traveling, and my parents are in their mid 70s and don't eat that much bread. But they let me sample pretty much everything on the bread board. I loved them all to be honest, but the Challah, Honey Wheat, Triple Berry, and Beer Cheese Bread really won me over. My next dilemma was which and how much should I get? It took me a while but I had a talk with the owner here who was very nice and helpful. The Challah is their top seller so I went for those rolls - and they were phenomenal! I also got the Triple Berry since it's a special for the holiday - and that was a hit too! And why not the beer cheese? Hell yes that too! Oh wow - and they had Butter Pecan Muffins - damn why not those too? We went for Butter Pecan ice cream the other day at Albert Lea but they ran out so maybe these will make up for that. Well I ended up giving half of everything to my parents, and then ate what I could, and then put the rest in my suitcase to take back home. We loved all of the offerings. I missed out on the Honey Wheat but oh well, maybe on the next trip. Had a nice conversation with the owner who is relatively new (past few years) and he was very nice, accommodating, and makes some of the best damn bread I've had in a long time. One of my favorite highlights of my trip to Rochester area that exceeded expectations.

Wonderful breads & cookies. Quick service. Comforting atmosphere. I've bought several different types of bread and have never been disappointed

AMAZING Roasted Pepper Chipotle Cheesesteak sandwich!! Had to go back again this week for a second one! Very friendly staff and quick service!

They sell you " day old" bread at full price. I have never been to a bakery that doesn't have everything fresh and ready to go by 7 or 8 am. The girl said to come back late morning if you want it fresh. I'm not going to pay $8 for a loaf of stale bread. Ridiculous, and to top it off they want a tip to hand you a loaf of cold bread. Will not return.

My husband and I came here for lunch when we were visiting from out-of-town since we read such great Yelp reviews! The bakery is following Covid guidelines with masks and fewer tables to provide social distancing. The gentleman who took our orders was very nice and answered out questions with patience. I got the California Cobb with bacon, avocado, turkey, and blue cheese spread on honey wheat. Hubby ordered the Tuscan chicken panini with sun-dried tomato pesto on focaccia. Yum! Yum! Yum! Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and delicious!!!! We will definitely come here again!!

Had a very rude encounter this morning with one of the employees. The man seemed to be in such a hurry, and when I was selecting my bread, he asked me a question and I didn't understand so he hollered it.I just wasn't sure what he was calling a specific shape of a loaf of bread so I had to ask. Apparently that set him off. I guess that's the last time ay "Great" Harvest. Doesn't feel good to get discounted as a customer when I could go anywhere.

The owner was very rude! So we will not go back. I asked if we could get butter on my sample of bread. She said no. We have no butter left eat it plain. Wow!

Bakery items are delicious. Customer service terrible. The woman who waited on me at 2:15 PM this afternoon made it clear that I was really inconveniencing her by coming in. I may try the other location but won't return to this one.

Breakfast sandwich was ok. The muffin was good but a little dry. Service in the bakery part was needing to be more attentive to everyone that comes in. Sandwich side was much more friendly. The seating was enough and low rock music was playing.

Love this place! It smells delicious and tastes as good as it smells. Their sandwiches are great and the bread - yummmmm. If you haven't made french toast with the cinnamon chip bread you are missing out! Try it soon!!
