Came here on the off chance for business travel and a supplier took us to this little gem. Very quiet area of white bear lake but this place was pretty lively mid week. It definitely is an ambience place as the lights were really dim and could see this spot as a local date night place. Steak was cooked just as I ordered as a medium rare and had the local MN fish with it and some green beans for greens. Pretty flavorful for all things and went great with a nice glass of red wine. Our servers were really attentive and quick to help answer any questions and bring us our food. Next time I'm in town again for business, will definitely visit for a different steak on their menu.

Protesting against surcharges? Add Gordy's to your list. Otherwise, read on...Entree: Seafood Combo ($39.95)-- Pan-fried Walleye: Seasoning coat on the Walleye is very delicate and not overpowering. I appreciate they put the almonds in the center, so you can distribute if wanted. The filet is a little small, but the taste is perfect. RECOMMENDED. -- Coconut Shrimp (4) includes a dipping "jelly sauce" with a slight horseradish kick. It's a good addition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!-- Crab Cake: The Crab cake is about the size of a cookie, but it should include more crab and less breading fill. I found it difficult to distinguish between crab and breading. Plus, the seasoning is a tad peppery, which overpowers the crab taste. Not recommended. Side Dish: Grilled Green Beans were perfectly blistered with a delicate teriyaki coat. I could eat a plate of them! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Bread: They provide a small, hot loaf about 6" long. It has a toasted seasoning of salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic. By far, one of the best "giveaway table breads" of any restaurant. Plus, they provide a basket of butter packets! I love my butter, and I hate when places only provide 1 or 2 packets. Gordy's bread came with a basket of packets (10 packets!)Drinks: Martini ($15). A very generous pour! If I'm paying $15 for a Martini, I want more than one or two sips. This Martini, using Tito's Vodka, was probably 5 ounces or more--with choice of lemon twist, olives, or bleu-cheese stuffed olives. As a Martini connoisseur, THANK YOU!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Service: I cannot speak more highly of the Servers! They are incredible! Friendly, professional, engaging, and attentive. Plus, the Server offered to de-shell the lobster (for a table next to mine). First time I've ever heard a Server offer to do that task--and I lived in New England with many great lobster places. The Servers are FANTASTIC!Ambiance: Subdued lighting and dark tones provide an intimate and relaxing experience.Overall: I am taking away 1/2 star for the breaded Crab Cakes and another 1/2 star for 3.99% surcharge for non-cash payments. Yeah right. Who pays almost a $100 tab with cash anymore ? It's just a sneaky way to "recover from lost COVID business", and we are tired of it. Just increase menu prices to compensate for it!

Again, I wish there were half stars, I'd give 3.5.Food is decent, nothing that really wowed me off the charts, but it wasn't bad. It was absolutely fine. I had chicken marsala and the sauce was a little thicker than I normally like, but the chicken was delicious and mushrooms weren't mushy.Drinks were good, again nothing super special, but not watered down garbage. This is a "classic" steakhouse setting too, vinyl seats, dark rooms. Kind of a throwback to the '50's.

Right on the corner on the main drag. Parking is relatively easy. The atmosphere is dark, kind of supper club-like. We were kindly greeted and placed in our booth, which was comfortable, outside the wobbly table (where there is a pack of matches when needed). Overall, the menu has a good selection. There are steak, chicken, and lake options. To be honest, the meat was "OK". I ordered the ribeye, which was cooked to order (rare) but was a bit bland. The same can be said for the Prime Rib. It was cooked well, but there was no crust that you might have expected. It's bland, to be honest. Considering the price we paid, I am underwhelmed. The sides are pretty basic...nothing to write home about as is the salads.I do have one complaint, and that is the cocktails. I've managed a bar for a number of years, and NOBODY needs 10 or 12-oz martini! You're supposed to be the adult in the room, and you should know better than to over-serve people with a cocktail of that type and size. Not cool. The bottom line is that we drove 40 minutes to eat here, and the cost of the food Vs. what we received wasn't in balance. Gordy's lost a star because of the cocktail issue I detailed. This place is not worth the drive for me.

Old school feel to this Supper Club. A little dark, a little fancy but comfortable and good noise level.Took a group of customers (firefighters) here for a business dinner and everything was a home run. Great server, seated right away with reservation, great apps and amazing steaks. Nice bar and beer menu also. Sorry was too busy for photos but will get some on my next trip to the area.Kid friendly, street parking, not much curb appeal from the outside but definitely a "can't miss" restaurant.

Cool location thanks in the little town of Willernie! Not very many options in the area. It's a small town steakhouse feel. It's fancy and VERY dimly lit.The food wasn't very satisfactory. The mushroom sauce on the chicken Marsala was overwhelming, and the steak was over cooked and significantly under seasoned. The bright spot? The kids cheese pizza is a WHOLE pizza.

Why haven't I heard of this before? Because, only the few elite know about this hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Well, somewhere, but faraway on the east side of town , where we don't venture out.Such a cute town. Reminds me of an up north kind of town where the streets are small and windy. Where the boutiques are plentiful. Where the downtown is maybe 2 blocks by 2 blocks. Where the giant Christmas tree and decorations stand. The restaurant itself has dark and 70s supper club vibes and the Christmas decorations are so cute. Now onto the food. I loved Everything we ordered! We started out with a bang and ordered the toro tips and crab cakes. A must-do for everyone. The toro tips are basically Axel's bill bites (chef came from there evidently). Tender and juicy and so good. The crab cakes were equally as good.I ordered a filet mignon and shrimp. Perfection! We also got the beans and mushrooms. So good!I will definitely be back!
